SECRET STUDENT SEANCE

Drama Club president Micah St. Clair makes sure the auditorium is cleared out in the evening, in time for a secret seance involving select members of the junior class. Their goal: to enlist the help of Gooseberry's ghost children in monitoring the MACUSA presence. The Living Kids–Dead Kids Alliance is a go!

When the crew sneak one by one into the auditorium, they'll find a large table set up onstage, the same one from the winter play, complete with a black tablecloth and an old Ouija board in the center. White candles on tall candelabras (also repurposed stage props) surround the table for some ~mood lighting~, and Micah orders everyone into their seats and the lights turned down low as they set up to contact the spirits. Zachary Zheng is stationed outside the main entrance to the auditorium, tasked with keeping any inquistive students/teachers/Aurors from poking their heads in.

HOW THIS WORKS

• The seance starts at 7 PM and will last one or two hours, depending on how things go. The kids will get out in time for the lodge to close for the night.


• This IC/OOC is only open to Ari, Bash, Calvin, Cole, Essie, Fern, Hazel, Jade, Jeffy, Lucas, Micah, and Zach.


• Everyone will be allowed to keep asking questions until 8 PM MT*, at which point the seance will end. *If we decide to extend the seance for an hour, we'll make note of it in the OOC section.


• As this is happening before curfew and not in a forbidden area, no one is breaking the rules. However, staff still frowns upon trying to contact the ghosts, so if anyone is caught at this, they may receive a stern talking to.

» Arrivals: For making plans, sneaking in, or showing off your seance outfits.

» The Ouija Board: Where all the action is! Ask your questions here. Answers will come from the gooseburied journal.

» Observers: For those of you who don't want to risk ghost possession by touching the planchette.

» Departures: As in leaving the auditorium after the seance is over, not death. Ha ha ha.

Once everyone (or most of the table, at least) offers their name, the planchette starts spelling again, moving slowly so they can catch each letter.

M. A. R. Then it hesitates, wobbling back and forth in bigger and bigger arcs as though competing forces are pulling on the planchette. Finally: G. Then it stops dead.

It takes Ari awhile to come up with a question to ask, and when she does speak, it's tentative. "Are... all of you... healing?"

This feels just as stupid as the last time, but here they still are, and Fern only sighs before declaring, "Fern."

"Are you on our side now?" Hazel isn't sure she's going to trust an affirmative answer here, but it's worth trying.

Jade remembers to ask with the planchette under her fingers.
It's a strange name, but if that's what she prefers.

They don't know how long they have, and Fern sees no reason to fool around with anything unimportant. "Do you know what the mimics in the forest want?"

Essie frowns thoughtfully. "The only girl we met was Pearl. Did anyone else meet any girls?"

"Oh man, I hope it was a ghost that tried to kill Cameron Carney." It's clear from Micah's tone that he's thrilled about staging plays in a haunted theater.

"Crunchy bones?" Fern asks, trying to recall which ghost was mangled without her notes.

Okay, okay, yes, one question at a time. And it's not the most pertinent question. But she wants to be as sure as possible they're not dealing with an errant mimic or moose.
