SECRET STUDENT SEANCE

Drama Club president Micah St. Clair makes sure the auditorium is cleared out in the evening, in time for a secret seance involving select members of the junior class. Their goal: to enlist the help of Gooseberry's ghost children in monitoring the MACUSA presence. The Living Kids–Dead Kids Alliance is a go!

When the crew sneak one by one into the auditorium, they'll find a large table set up onstage, the same one from the winter play, complete with a black tablecloth and an old Ouija board in the center. White candles on tall candelabras (also repurposed stage props) surround the table for some ~mood lighting~, and Micah orders everyone into their seats and the lights turned down low as they set up to contact the spirits. Zachary Zheng is stationed outside the main entrance to the auditorium, tasked with keeping any inquistive students/teachers/Aurors from poking their heads in.

HOW THIS WORKS

The seance starts at 7 PM and will last one or two hours, depending on how things go. The kids will get out in time for the lodge to close for the night.

This IC/OOC is only open to Ari, Bash, Calvin, Cole, Essie, Fern, Hazel, Jade, Jeffy, Lucas, Micah, and Zach.

Everyone will be allowed to keep asking questions until 8 PM MT*, at which point the seance will end. *If we decide to extend the seance for an hour, we'll make note of it in the OOC section.

As this is happening before curfew and not in a forbidden area, no one is breaking the rules. However, staff still frowns upon trying to contact the ghosts, so if anyone is caught at this, they may receive a stern talking to.

It takes Ari awhile to come up with a question to ask, and when she does speak, it's tentative. "Are... all of you... healing?"

The planchette drags its way around the board.

DEAD.

"No, yeah," Bash returns immediately. "Totally fair. But - Henry's head. The whole -" He frees up one of his hands to flutter around his general facial area. "Reattached thing. Is that voluntary, then?"

The planchette picks up speed, excitedly spelling out letters: HANDSOME.

Bash laughs, a loud and startling bark of it that he immediately stuffs the back of his hand in front of. "Man, I'm sure."

"I knew it. They are flirts."

A wide grin. "Dude, who isn't?"

Lucas bumps his shoulder against Bash, then turns his attention to the spirit board. "Opinions on Charles?"

"Aw," he knocks his shoulder against Lucas' on the rebound, bites down on his lower lip. "Why so harsh? Leave my main dude alone. He's got some feelings."

The ghost knows more than you do, Bash. BAD KISSER.

Jeffy's eyes go wide. "Do you guys use the closet like, uh, some of us do???"

Essie immediately blushes and avoids looking at the board.

"Can they even kiss at all?" Ari asks, aside and mostly to Jade. "They're incorporeal."

"I shouldn't think so. Maybe there's a way to ghost-kiss that we don't know of." She eyes the board like she maybe wants to ask the technical details of the undead making out, but she refrains.

"He's got eternity to work on it!" Bash attempts, though his eyes are definitely crinkling up bemusedly at the corners.

STILL BAD. Evidently, Marg is not impressed by Charles' century of effort so far.

"Man, that's rough." Bash feels like he's maybe going to have to yell some comforting things at trees later this week. "Probably for you too. Which - sorry."

"Charles just needs practice." This is kind, for someone who's never met Charles, but she understands. "I hope he gets a ...significant other. I'm sure that helps." She wouldn't presume Charles' ghost sexuality.

"Maybe he just doesn't like kissing." Jade's right. It's probably rude to presume. "He'll get himself figured out eventually."

That's fair. She doesn't push it.
