SECRET STUDENT SEANCE

Drama Club president Micah St. Clair makes sure the auditorium is cleared out in the evening, in time for a secret seance involving select members of the junior class. Their goal: to enlist the help of Gooseberry's ghost children in monitoring the MACUSA presence. The Living Kids–Dead Kids Alliance is a go!

When the crew sneak one by one into the auditorium, they'll find a large table set up onstage, the same one from the winter play, complete with a black tablecloth and an old Ouija board in the center. White candles on tall candelabras (also repurposed stage props) surround the table for some ~mood lighting~, and Micah orders everyone into their seats and the lights turned down low as they set up to contact the spirits. Zachary Zheng is stationed outside the main entrance to the auditorium, tasked with keeping any inquistive students/teachers/Aurors from poking their heads in.

HOW THIS WORKS

The seance starts at 7 PM and will last one or two hours, depending on how things go. The kids will get out in time for the lodge to close for the night.

This IC/OOC is only open to Ari, Bash, Calvin, Cole, Essie, Fern, Hazel, Jade, Jeffy, Lucas, Micah, and Zach.

Everyone will be allowed to keep asking questions until 8 PM MT*, at which point the seance will end. *If we decide to extend the seance for an hour, we'll make note of it in the OOC section.

As this is happening before curfew and not in a forbidden area, no one is breaking the rules. However, staff still frowns upon trying to contact the ghosts, so if anyone is caught at this, they may receive a stern talking to.

Cole looks startled at this. But...what else is there to do but wait for the planchette to stop moving?

"Go ahead, Cole. Maybe she's waiting for a specific question."

"Oh," Cole breathes quietly, looking at Fern and nodding before he asks, "We were wondering if you could...watch the Aurors for us? And tell us what they're doing? Because they won't tell us. We can do something for you too."

The planchette moves to the very bottom of the board and selects GOODBYE.

It doesn't move again.

"I...guess that's a no," Cole says slowly, "Do you think she's mad?"

"She hasn't got anything to be mad about." Hazel sounds pretty mad herself, though.

"I just mean...if you thought someone came to see you. And then they said they came because they wanted something from you. Maybe you wouldn't be happy about it?" Cole returns, attempting to explain. He shrugs a little.

Though this is something of a valid point, Hazel still looks annoyed and isn't willing to verbally accept this. "Whatever," she responds after a few moments. "She's the one who just said a bunch of crap and then ran off when we nicely asked her something else."

"I guess," Cole answers, agreeing by default because he isn't certain what to think about everything just yet. He's already considering the possibility of an apology gift for the theatre ghost, though.

"Uh, is the ghost just allowed to end it like that?" It's a rhetorical question, so Micah goes through the motions of closing the session anyway. "Thanks for helping!" he calls out to the auditorium, and then kind of wiggles the planchette with his fingers so it lands on GOODBYE again.

"...How's it supposed to end?" Cole figures that this is, at least, better than how it ended last time.

"Well," Lucas ticks off points on his fingers. "Our ghost said the mimics are aliens who want blood, that flour works in protecting us from them, that Ms. Lilywhite is a danger to us and that Charles is a bad kisser." He looks at Micah. "I'm...hmm."

Put it that way, and it does sound kind of ridiculous. Micah stares at the Ouija for a second, and carefully removes the planchette from it.

"I mean... no one's actually tried flour on a mimic." But he sounds doubtful.
