okay, so.

i was thinking about the mirrors. well, i was thinking about a lot of shit, but most of those thoughts are still largely incoherent and utterly useless so i'm sticking with this one. because it's been like 80 years and i'm still not sure what we should do with them? cause we've got four. and there are only two of us.

I still say we use them to play a really complicated game of Bloody Mary.

But then I suppose we have to figure out what to do with the extra set after.

i mean, we'd probably have to bury the first one on sacred ground and maybe circle it with salt or something.

so, technically, we'd be down to just one for ourselves.

but that's probably a huge waste.

I was thinking that, assuming she even exists, we could split her across all four mirrors somehow and then turn her into our thrall.

But that's probably a little advanced and we might get in trouble.

So maybe we should just give a set away to someone? Have a raffle?

i mean, there should maybe be one in the girls' cabins? like one for ari and one for essie and jade. like - jeffy's got you and, okay, yeah - that only really directly gets him to ME - which the hell would be want THAT for? but. it's easy enough for me to get over to the girls' cabin over here or one of you guys to get to the girls over THERE.

which, okay, ISN'T really fair to anybody in ribbonfin or coppertale? but cole's got his set? so. that covers THAT? sort of.

Yeah. I mean, that seems very logical to me? One to Essie and Jade and one to Ari, to keep the girls looped in if there's [...] you know, trouble. And it makes sense to lend the mirrors out to people we'd be at least in closer contact with, you know? At least, it does to me.

Never was great at Artificing. Maybe [...] we could ask Essie? She'd probably know for sure. And if so, that'd go a long way to helping out.

Essie's an Artificing prodigy and if anyone can do it, she can, but I'm gonna talk up my talented boyfriend, too. It seems worth at least consulting her and Mr. Oakes. If it's going to break the mirrors or seems impossible, though, we won't tinker with anything.

Of course. We're always going to be dealing with one end of the world scenario or another at this ridiculous school. It's not like Jade and Ari aren't going to be embroiled in all that, too. We're helping them, we're keeping everyone in the loop.

if you want to do that, you're gonna need to go out and find yourself another boyfriend. we got a real lack of prodigies in the lacroix house. unless you're counting the girls. who are going to be super-geniuses. and are gallos anyway. [...] but, um. yeah. we could at least inquire. asking doesn't hurt.

i mean, it still hits every cabin that way? it just also gives them magical cellphone access. y'know, as a bonus feature. which - they deserve it. they were super dedicated to their fantasy family anyway.

i'm always full of a LOT of ideas. the goodness of them varies wildly. but you always help. with idea sorting. [...] but hey! that's a plan. with a [...] surprisingly quick resolution?

Well, you know. I was thinking about it, before, and at the time it made the most sense to give the mirrors to someone else involved with all of our research. So I wrote down the names of everyone I've spoken to about the seance and [...] it was really long. And I'm not good at picking. So I threw that out. And then, I was thinking, "Well, we don't have to keep one set for ourselves." And I was going to suggest you give a mirror to Essie and I give one to Fern or Ari and we ask Cole about giving one to someone in another house, too. And then I thought, "Well, we shouldn't go with obvious people, because if we get in trouble for what we're doing, we need some plausible deniability." And so I started graphing out all the possible combinations. But the graph wound up being four or five pieces of paper taped together. It was a mess. Also I'd decided by the third sheet of paper that I didn't even want to give my mirror to anyone but you. Because sometimes you just want to be able to see your boyfriend's face ~~when you can't sleep~~ and not worry about your cool teenage mystery solving club. So, I'm not really sure why I kept going. ~~Probably anxiety.~~ But I did.

And then the ward failure happened.

And Ari and Jade [...] I didn't read what they wrote, but I read about what they wrote. And if they're not comfortable with being out, well, that's [...] if we can help with that, I want to.

i feel like assuming there might be an apocalypse and then being pleasantly surprised if/when it doesn't show up isn't the WORST decision people could make at this school. neither is the cross-campus flirting.
