BEST FRIENDS POTION

A mimic disguised as Archimedes Rose drugs the water at breakfast with the latest version of his altered Amortentia. Luckily, the current batch is relatively harmless. However, it's not without any effect.

HOW THIS WORKS

If your student drinks the water, then they'll be convinced that the next person they see is their best friend. Why did they only notice just now how amaaazing this person is? They've never felt closer to anyone else.

Archie had been calling this latest failed attempt Philidosi.

The effects will last all day, and since this isn't necessarily dangerous, there won't be a quarantine. They will be keeping an eye on everyone, though. Just in case.

Archie will be accused of the drugging, but Ariadne Flint is able to provide an airtight alibi that saves him from punishment. It's concluded that a mimic was behind the incident.

All matches will be assumed to be reciprocated unless you specifically arrange something else. (For instance, if you wanted to play Stewart as thinking Alice is his best friend while Alice definitely disagrees because she was not drugged, you'll have to plan that on your own and inform the mods when you sign up.)

Since this is relatively harmless, staff will not impose a quarantine. They'll be keeping their eyes on students, however.

What Your Character Will Experience:
- The only warning is that seconds before the incident occurs, affected characters will notice that the water tastes a bit odd, but in a pleasant way. The first person they make eye contact with in that state will suddenly appear to be the more incredible, interesting, amazing person they've ever seen. Their new best friend. Why didn't they ever appreciate how great they were before now???
- At the end of the day, the affected characters will snap back to reality. They will no longer feel anything out of the ordinary.
Dr. Perry will be available to counsel any students shaken up by the day's events.

"DUDE." Jeffy does a sloth roll on his broom, because that's about the best trick he can reliable do without dying. "Do you think we would KNOW if we were ROBOTS??" he asks, which seems kind of like a non sequitur, but this is train of thought moves fast and you'd better just get on board. "Like what if they TESTED us after the game and they were like, 'Whoa, turns out you're the VERY FIRST ALL-ROBOT QUIDDITCH TEAM'???"

Tuesday flops in to the same pose on her broom, so they can maintain eye contact upside down. That seems fair. She's dead serious when she does, too, nodding like any of that made human sense. And it kind of did. "Just so you Know. My own Personal mantra is to do everything so well that people think you're a Robot."

She'd definitely picked up on that one from her secret idol, Reid Wainwright, but it always did seem to work for him. She passes Jeffy the Quaffle with solemn eyes.

"I MEAN, I'm pretty sure I've wondered if you were a robot BEFORE??" If he hadn't before, then he is now, because Tuesday is, like, CRAZY impressive??? Jeffy catches the Quaffle without a problem this time, even upside down, even while SUPER WOWED by his incredibly talented best friend and also all the blood is rushing to his head. He meets her solemn gaze for like a half a second before he cracks a classic Jefferson Key Grin.

"HEY." Using mostly his knees, Jeffy manages to get himself into an upright position again. "You should TOTALLY show me how to do that ankle thing you were doing?? If non-robots can manage it???"

"You Really thought I was a robot??" She doesn't bother turning right side up yet, she's too awed for that. And besides, she'd been upside down way longer before. "That's all I ever Wanted!"

Obligingly, she rides her broom a little higher into the air. "It's so easy." Tuesday flips back upright and demonstrates. "You start by going upside down on your Knees, which you can Totally do. Make sure your ankles are crossed too. Get a Really good grip, or you're going to fall, and then you just..."

She flops down, arms and hair blowing away. "Let Go! You can start close to the ground but not Too close, or you could snap your neck."
