BEST FRIENDS POTION

A mimic disguised as Archimedes Rose drugs the water at breakfast with the latest version of his altered Amortentia. Luckily, the current batch is relatively harmless. However, it's not without any effect.

HOW THIS WORKS

If your student drinks the water, then they'll be convinced that the next person they see is their best friend. Why did they only notice just now how amaaazing this person is? They've never felt closer to anyone else.

Archie had been calling this latest failed attempt Philidosi.

The effects will last all day, and since this isn't necessarily dangerous, there won't be a quarantine. They will be keeping an eye on everyone, though. Just in case.

Archie will be accused of the drugging, but Ariadne Flint is able to provide an airtight alibi that saves him from punishment. It's concluded that a mimic was behind the incident.

All matches will be assumed to be reciprocated unless you specifically arrange something else. (For instance, if you wanted to play Stewart as thinking Alice is his best friend while Alice definitely disagrees because she was not drugged, you'll have to plan that on your own and inform the mods when you sign up.)

Since this is relatively harmless, staff will not impose a quarantine. They'll be keeping their eyes on students, however.

What Your Character Will Experience:
- The only warning is that seconds before the incident occurs, affected characters will notice that the water tastes a bit odd, but in a pleasant way. The first person they make eye contact with in that state will suddenly appear to be the more incredible, interesting, amazing person they've ever seen. Their new best friend. Why didn't they ever appreciate how great they were before now???
- At the end of the day, the affected characters will snap back to reality. They will no longer feel anything out of the ordinary.
Dr. Perry will be available to counsel any students shaken up by the day's events.

"Of course!" Chloe says, chewing on the red rope candy. "I guess I shouldn't really eat stuff like this either?" She hadn't seriously considered giving up junk food, even when she'd become vegetarian, but maybe if her best friend thinks she should. "Thank you! It's softer now that I haven't been bleaching it to dye it blue anymore. The next time I get a hair cut, you totally can."

"Everyone's dietary journeys are their own to take, I could never point you down one path or another." Georgie hums to herself and weaves in another flower. This is honestly the prettiest braid she's ever done, and she can't help but feel like it's because it's Chloe's hair. It's soft and it smells good and it's the loveliest shade, anything Georgie makes here is guaranteedto be a work of art. "But if you're really considering pursuing the path of no junk and want some sage advice, have you considered consulting your spirit guide?"

Everyone has a spirit guide. Georgie's sure of that much.

"That makes sense? Kind of like when I decided to be vegetarian," Chloe says and nods, a very slight movement so that she doesn't ruin the braid. "What's a spirit guide?" she asks, and she's sure Georgie is going to have an informative and poetic answer, because she is unarguably the best.

Georgie is very focused on this braid. Even if Chloe nodded too hard or jerked suddenly, nothing could destroy the beauty of this braid. Not with hair this shiny or smells this good.

Georgiana might be mildly in love with every one of her friends, for the record.

"Well for me it's this talking mountain goat that I see in my dreams," she explains, giving the hair an extra twist. "I close my eyes, and I ask my inner eye to open and let me speak with them. When they appear, they offer me cryptic guidance and only sometimes try to deceive me." If it sounds wildly unreliable, that's because it is.
