I don't mind talking to her. She's really just a kid. I'm not sure if this is entirely true all the time, but it seems to me that ghosts don't really grow up or get more mature, but they are stuck at the development they were at when they died. No one's going to convince her to not be a twelve year old girl. And that's a hard age. She's not going to change but maybe we can ease her into moving for now.

You're right. She really is just a kid. When a person dies and becomes a ghost, they become stuck as the person they were when they died. And healthy people rarely choose to remain as ghosts instead of moving on.

She's a young girl and she's hurt because the boy she's had a crush on all year likes another boy. The fact that she didn't curse Austin with pneumonia like she did to those people at the beginning of this school year shows that the counselling is working and she's able to learn that what she did was wrong and not repeat the same behaviour.

But she's still a kid and she's not emotionally mature. It sounds like she's chosen Austin's cabin to cry under because she wants him to witness her heartbreak over Todd. She wants attention. It's manipulative and it's aggravating, but it's a big improvement over her past behaviour and I'm worried that she'll regress if she's not handled with care right now.

If someone asked me to just be nice to a person who was bullying me because they're hurt and lonely, I would be incredibly upset. Austin has every right to be angry and tell me to fuck off and I should have tried a better approach than leading in with "Poor Molly". It's not fair and it's not kind to Austin to prioritise the feelings of his harasser, but ghosts don't operate the same as humans. Humans can be physically removed and punished, but incorporeal beings are harder to stop.
