I think Animagus studies is actually going to be really interesting.

Yeah, it is. Best thing since coming to Gooseberry.

Except Quidditch, I guess? I'd say they're tied.

I'm not into Quidditch. But Animagus Studies is a really good opportunity. Is there any other school that does it?

Don't think so. Hadn't ever heard about it until I got here. Figured this kind of thing wasn't for me, you know?

What kind of thing?

Advanced Study things. But it's not like we have to write essays in Animagus Studies so I'll probably be ok.

Animagus Studies is fascinating. WAY MORE fascinating than having to talk about some dumb Azurcrests and what they get up to.

It's tough, though. Ms. Rhee keeps warning us that some people will never make it.

It sounds SO COOL but also really tough! You're starting this year, huh? What kind of animal do you hope you get?

I don't know. I haven't really thought about it that much.

I guess some people don't complete the transformation though.

I think it's so cool that you can learn how to become an Animagus here!

People seem to really like it so it's weird that they don't do it at more schools. Maybe in twenty years it will be more common.

Maybe because it's so difficult? I heard a lot of people never manage to transform. And also there aren't really that many practical uses for being able to turn into an animal. Especially when you don't even know what animal you'll be.

But it's still cool.

That's what they're saying but I didn't realize that when I signed up. You'd think everyone would after two years.

Not everything has to be practical, though. Some things are just interesting.

I think so too! But I don't think many schools like to focus on interesting-but-impractical subjects.
