Oh, I know what you're thinking, but there will be no scolding or lecturing from your local prefect today. I promise. Actually, I've just been struck by the realization that 2013 has barrelled by shockingly quickly, and only promises to get busier, what with exams and Drama rehearsals and Winter Formal. Everyone's trying to keep our heads above the water and not drown from the stress (not Ras, obviously, he's a strong swimmer and stress-impervious), but... it's the holidays, and we should remember to cherish the time we spend together. We've been rainbow trout for three years and three months now, and in June, we'll be graduating and leaving Ribbonfin forever.

Thank god, you're thinking to yourselves. Soon I will escape the suffocating boa constrictor hold of Ravi's fussing. Ah yes, but until then, might I suggest we have a little get-together, just the ten of us? This weekend's going to be exceptionally crowded, so next week, perhaps? Please let me know what you all think. It can be just a few hours in the boys' cabin, catching up and relaxing. We can have hot chocolate, and I'll clean out Event Committee's supply of pastries.

And finally Mr. Merrill would have to stop telling us that no one's ever died at Gooseberry. Late at night, in Azurcrest, you'll sometimes hear the ghostly sound of acoustic guitar.

Er. In all seriousness, how are you feeling? And I don't mean your bones.

I know some great songs for a proper haunting. I might actually make a fairly dignified ghost at this point in my life.

Uh, well. Let's see. I lied to my best friend, and actually ended up causing all the senior Azurcrests to lie to him, too. Everyone feels guilty because I went sledding with a concussion and now they feel responsible for not stopping me. My little sister hates me again because my other sister told on me that I conspired (unsuccessfully) to stop her from sledding. My recent attempt to talk to her about it totally flopped. My moms have been sent a letter about my not insignificant role in this whole mess, as well as that I have been stashing (and consuming) lots of alcohol and providing it to other students.

I mean, frankly, I've been better. At least my senior project is nearly done and my grades are okay, so, hey. There's some good news.

I'm sorry, Diego. That really does sound like a lot to deal with. Are you worried about your mothers' reaction?

It's fine, sorry, I'll deal with it. I'm just being melodramatic. Thanks for letting me vent, though. As for the mom situation, they'll be pissed at me, but what parents wouldn't be? It's not the worst thing I've ever done.

I don't think it's melodramatic to be stressed out about all this. I just wish I could say anything that would help. Cecil and your friends will forgive you, as will your sisters and parents, I imagine. This is... bad, yes, but all things considered, it could've been much worse. [...] Wow, I am terrible at reassurance.

Maybe this is a sign you just need to play it safe for awhile? Ah... wait. Are you and Levi still having that annual birthday party?

They always forgive me. I mean, it's okay. You don't need too try and reassure me about it. It is what it is.

Haha, yeah, we are. Besides, playing it safe usually means getting really bored.

Ah, well. I hope we never have to again. These arguments over the rules always turn into such a mess.

You know, I'd offer to carry you home, but... I honestly don't think I could? I lack those impressive cheerleading muscles. So, this all works out. Moderate alcohol consumption. Maybe even mild alcohol consumption. [...] Thank you.

I have no idea what your muscle mass is. I've actually never seen any more skin on you than your face, neck and hands. I think once you wore shorts??? Did I imagine that???

The funny thing is, it's not even about the people who broke the rules anymore. Now it's about how the rules don't make sense, or how the prefects only care about feeling self-righteous instead of actually caring about people... But never mind that. You probably don't want to hear about any of this.

I'm sorry, have I overstepped my bounds? And here I thought professing my love for you onstage at least earned me a promotion from "acquaintance."

I do own a pair of swim trunks. But... I think the last time I actually went "swimming" at school was in sophomore year, and I spent most of that time reading on the shore...?

Well, I mean, I read all of it. I care because I'm friends with some prefects (you're one of them now) and I know this stuff upsets them (you). Aaaaand I know I'm sometimes involved in the thing everyone's upset about.

I guess so. We've been seeing a lot of one another lately, and I just poured out my heart to you. I should probably only do that with people I consider friends.

Are you serious? Do you dislike the water or what? Or are you just shy?
