AFTER THE PRANK

BREAKFAST

Following the feather prank that was played on Ebonhide, things were even pettier than usual between Ms. Rhee and Mr. Merrill. At breakfast, every word between the two rival teachers was a passive-aggressive jab. Ms. Vector was overhead saying she was ready to drown them both in the lake. Mr. Elmasry had the expression of someone desperately trying not to laugh as Mr. Hightower stared him down and said something about professionalism.

Meanwhile, Head Boy Cecil Honeychurch managed to get a number of his fellow Azurcrests to admit to their involvement. Azurcrest began talking about a cleanup effort, and Cecil went to Mr. Merrill with their intentions.

LATE MORNING

Cecil explained to Mr. Merrill what had happened, but refused to name names. Mr. Merrill was moved by the admission, enough that he was willing to break the stalemate with Ms. Rhee. As he left his office with Cecil, he squeezed the Head Boy's shoulder and told him "I knew they made the right choice when they picked you. The second I got the news, I knew." Merrill didn't demand any specifics on who was involved. He'd accept anyone who showed up for the cleanup effort, and that was good enough.

It was not, however, good enough for Ms. Rhee. Incensed by the idea that there were guilty parties going unpunished, she took the issue to the headmistress. By now, Mrs. Bloom was eager to kill this whole matter and get out for some fishing while the weather was still good. She agreed with Rhee, and decreed that since the prank targeted all of Ebonhide, all of Azurcrest should have to clean it up.

AFTER DINNER; THE CLEANUP

Mr. Merrill hiked all the way out to Ebonhide with all of his students in tow to perform a massive cleanup of the feathers around the Ebonhide camp. He was in good spirits (but when is he not?), and tried to keep the rest of Azurcrest in a similar mood.

• Mr. Merrill is on hand helping to clean, but he's pretty useless. He's singing songs, encouraging games, and periodically throwing feathers at any Azurcrests he deems too slow or too serious.
  
• Ms. Rhee is there as well, making sure the Azurcrests don't do any more damage. She mom-scolds any Ebonhides who try to help.
  
• If your Azurcrest character tries to skip out, they can slip away on the way to Ebonhide or during the cleanup. However, they have a 75% chance of being noticed, and if they are, they'll receive detention. If your character tries this, comment on this post and we'll let you know if they got away with it!
  
• Students from Coppertale and Ribbonfin may attempt to casually visit friends in Ebonhide, but if they're at all disruptive or try to help clean, Ms. Rhee will ask them to leave. Failure to comply will result in lost points or detention!

Levi Kramer; Competition Minigame!

Levi has a friendly competition going to see who can pick up the most feathers. The winner gets ~ONE DATE WITH HIM~ (which was mostly a joke, but he'll happily go through with it) and/or they are treated as Birdy Royalty for a day and get to wear a feather crown he's made.

Feathers will be counted once all of them are picked up. Some students may even have made a game of stealing other people's feathers to make their count higher. Some might have sacrificed their count to shower their friends in filthy feathers. Anything goes and there are no fowls.

IF YOU WANT TO PARTICIPATE, COMMENT BELOW WITH "ROLLING" IN THE SUBJECT LINE AND I'LL USE RANDOM.ORG TO ROLL A NUMBER BETWEEN 1-100 TO DETERMINE HOW MANY FEATHERS YOUR CHARACTER PICKED UP. IT DOESN'T HAVE TO MEAN IT'S THE EXACT AMOUNT THEY PICKED UP, BUT THE HIGHEST NUMBER IS THE WINNER! (moddies, could you pls roll for me too so it's unbiased?)

Levi's in good spirits and sings along with Merrill's songs. He's almost having more fun picking up feathers than he did throwing them all over the place.

Mr. Merrill announced he was the undisputed Birdy Royalty of Gooseberry, but spent more time trying to joke with his students and get them to turn that frown upside-down than clean. Honestly, he probably threw more feathers than he picked up.

Cecil Honeychurch

While Cecil feels a little bad (but not that bad) that the cleanup effort went from being optional to mandatory, he's in high spirits and genuinely grateful for how his housemates are handling the situation. As promised, he comes armed with cookies that he made with Frankie (her family recipe was excellent!), which are offered to Ebonhides and Azurcrests alike. Apart from that, he's ready to roll up his sleeves and pick up those feathers!

Diego Morales

Diego was not unhappy to clean up, and treated it largely as time spent joking with friends. He probably spent a good chunk of the time with Estella, but there was plenty of time where she was with her friends and he was with his.

He participated in the singing, and serenaded his housemates with some pretty folk songs when Merrill wasn't taking point on the music front.

About 45 minutes into clean up, Diego took off his shirt. IT'S HOT OUT AND THIS IS HARD WORK.

After most of the feathers had been cleared up from the Ebonhide campfire, Mina set herself up there with a bag of marshmallows and a determination to enjoy not having to clean. Any passing Ebonhides got offered free marshmallows, plus access to the rest of Mina's haul: leftover graham crackers and chocolate from the party, and large collection of different chocolates and candies. Azurcrests get NOTHING... unless it's Estella maybe, BUT SHE BETTER NOT SHARE.

Ravi ~casually~ stopped by to borrow a book from Nate and say hi to Irene, but it was pretty obvious these were just flimsy excuses to see the labouring Azurcrests. He was sure to stay well out of Rhee's notice and did nothing that would be considered disruptive, but Ravi had also brought along two large thermoses of hot and iced tea, and would've offered a drink to any Azurcrests who seemed like they needed it. Or really anyone who asked. He just wanted to see this for himself, okay.

Riley Mae is... CAUGHT. For all that Mr. Merrill looks like he's not being terribly helpful, he still has sharp eyes, and sees that tiny pink-haired figure dart from the group.

"Riley," he sighs dramatically. "I'm beginning to think you didn't hear a word I said, excuse me, sang about getting into the SPIRIT OF SANITATION." Merrill gives her an hour of detention this week, and insists she hold the garbage bag for all of the feathers he's (not) picking up.

Frankie Noble

Frank shows up, armed to the teeth with the aforementioned apology cookies. (And probably lots of actual apologizing.) She very obviously doesn't mind cleaning - had every intention of cleaning - and very probably sneaks most of her feathers to her housemates that are dead-set on competition.

So what probably happened here is that Addy was being herself and flitting from person to person (she brought some bags of chips and stuff! She remembers things sometimes!) Which was nice, but she didn't work too hard as a result of all the chatting/snack offering/charming those feathers to be little birds that flew into the trash/you name it tbh. She tried to help, truly?

Look, Katya clearly showed up, not ALL that happy to be there and making more than a few curses in Russian as the sticky gross feathers get stuck to her BUT her awesome new boots are brilliant at collecting feathers. So clearly she's doing just tons of work.

She also did her very best to pull out the flirty eyelashes at Nate and might have tried to flirt her way into getting his help.

She really didn't have any hand in this AT ALL. Nope. None. But even though she isn't in Azurcrest she still stopped in to watch the punishment. She isn't disruptive, or well any more than she usually is, but might have called out things like 'missed one' or 'pick it up you guys are the worst. silly azurcrests!'. But she won't pick up any feathers.

On the second or third time Trixie calls something out to the Azurcrests, Ms. Rhee calls that "disruptive behaviour" and orders Trixie leave. Don't argue with her, Miss Armstrong, not unless you want detention! Azurcrest may be getting what they deserve, but Rhee won't have anyone except her own house hassling them.

Bailey Hartman

Bailey had forgotten the cleanup was happening so she'd gone to the library after dinner. (Though to be fair she probably would've gone there anyway because she's boring.) She came back over an hour into the cleanup and just stood around staring at everyone for a minute. Then she went to her cabin because she is, in fact, extremely boring.

Faye literally has nothing better to do (the only thing on her schedule for Tuesday is HoM) so she totally tromped over to laugh at everyone, blatantly obvious about her motives, as if she was trying to see if she could be the fastest kicked out.

So, Sofia hates cleaning with a passion but didn't even attempt to sneak off since she's way too tall and her presences definitely would've been missed. She didn't attempt to clean so much as she pretended to move stuff around when attention was on her, and then stood around or talked to people for the rest of the time. She also insisted that she was allergic to cleaning and she didn't have an epipen so, yeah, she definitely couldn't clean.

Ulysses Quayle

Having completed his homework (or did he...), Ulysses grabbed a chair (http://cdn.buynowsignal.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/17/1-beach-chair-with-canopy.jpg), threw on his sunglasses, and went outside to watch what was going on with Azurcrest. After plopping his chair down on the ground, he briefly went inside to grab a drink, but then he was back to watch the activities. He then proceeded to do some lighthearted heckling with another NPC Ebonhide who had the plot slot with him.

Dahlia thought the whole thing was all-around hilarious -- the prank concept, the Azurcrests cleaning up, Ms. Rhee mom-sccolding any helpful Ebonhides. She spent the whole time wandering around to watch the clean-up, sometimes sitting down with a drink that was "totally just Coke", if Ms. Rhee asked.

Henrietta Gray

Henrietta didn't make a fuss about having to clean up, since she knew that was how it was always going to turn out. And since the whole of Azurcrest had to take part, she saw it as a chance to mess around with her friends, and just had fun singing and joking and eating cookies. She also made a game of sneaking up on people and stuffing feathers down their back. #sorrynotsorry
