FRIDAY MORNING - Quinn & Ty

Honestly? Quinn doesn't mind the rambling about languages. At all. Given how often she rants about Healer applications, or the latest artificing snafu, or the Leafs(, or...), Ty's usually content to listen and ask questions; but instead of dance or Cheer, maybe sometimes she dominates the conversation? So, learning about this Mermish passage she totally doesn't understand as well as she's letting on—yes, she's totally into this.

She mutters "No," and knocks his foot affectionately with her own when he mentions shutting up, but mostly she's noting the dropping of hands, the uncomfortable shuffling of hair, how much she'd like to reach out and pat it all back into place. But what he says next confuses her. She's been on edge since she handed him the gift—no, since she wrote the note for the gift last night—because, as much as she told herself 'It's just a word,' she knew she was taking a risk. If anything, though, calculated risks are kind of Quinn's modus operandi; so she crosses her arms and tries as hard as she can, as hard as she has been doing, to just act natural. "Are you talking about the threat, or my stepping on your feet?" Because this is Quinn, and trying to deflect the awkwardness she feels with humour is second nature.

Despite what she may look like to the unseasoned observer, her stomach's churning. Her palms are sweaty. She's fifty percent sure she's about to find out that she made a very, very big mistake. Otherwise, why would they have been so obviously dancing around the issue?

Fuck. She should never have written it. 'Warmest regards' is a perfectly acceptable way to sign off a letter.
