(no subject)

So following up from last night, would anyone else like some Russian lessons? Not a pick up line this time. Really! Also whoever was on the other end last night, I'll give myself away a little about some eight legged things.

Russian lessons on the table. All I remember is something about being on a roof and then not being on the roof.

I... suppose we should be grateful for that? No bleeding. No concussion. Or worse. Are we calling last night a victory?

Well, I'm glad. I'm not sure who else they would've made prefect if you'd died.

The bruise isn't too bad, is it?

I'm quite fond of everyone in your cabin. However, I'm not sure anyone else would've wanted the badge. And responsibilities. And all the prefect meetings.

That's good. I did admire how you all made your way up there, and am slightly sad I didn't stay long enough to see you come down.

Alas, I know. But someone has to do it. You're keeping your roommates safe.

I think it's good you're the height you are. We're technically not supposed to be climbing on the roofs.

And you had a lot of people watching you to make sure none of you got hurt. I imagine under more serious circumstances, you would rise to the challenge too.

We are teenagers. It's the time to push boundaries. And some of those boundaries exist for a reason, and need to be enforced.

In those cases, I imagine they probably could. Falling that distance isn't really the end of the world, especially for wizards.

Yes. Of course. But there's a pretty wide spectrum between "climbing on the roof" and "murder," and this applies to plenty of rules between those two extremes as well.
