BRO BIRTHDAY BASH

The Grotto is adorned with orange floating lights, and at the center of it is the two thrones set aside for Casey Patterson and Jacob Wood. The music playing in is a rowdy dance mix, clearly designed to suit Casey's taste and style, and the orange lights that float about pulse in time with the beat.

The weather continues to improve, but it's been windy lately. Oddly enough, the air around the Grotto is much calmer. There's still a breeze, though, and it carries the smoke from the bonfire into the faces of people sitting in the wrong place. Ugh! Every once in a while, the wind shifts, and you can smell the thick pine trees around the Grotto very distinctly.

Late in the night, as things are winding down, there's an unexpected sighting: a shooting star. This must mean good things, right? Make a wish.

RULES

You must use your new character journals to participate in this IC/OOC.

The party starts at 7:00, and runs until 12:00. The prefects are still strictly enforcing curfew.

Prefects: assume the system of on- and off-duty prefects is still in place. You may choose if your prefect is on or off duty, or if they’re going to show up at 12:30 AM to write up curfew breakers.

If your character attends this party, they qualify for the Amnesia Event!

RULES

Teen peer pressure (and player sadism) aside, no one is obligated to do anything they don't want to. Characters doing Seven Minutes In Heaven can spend the time just talking or staring awkwardly at each other, and characters playing Spin The Bottle can opt out of a kiss (although people will probably boo).

If characters get up to anything more racy than PG-13, please fade to black on that! This includes sexually explicit conversations. Many people track IC/OOC posts, so please have consideration for your fellow players. Talking about sex is fine (and part of the flavour of a teen game), but there's no need to get into detailed descriptions of anatomy or sex acts.

If you'd like to say two characters were partners in STB or 7MIH in addition to what's been rolled, go ahead! Obviously, get the permission of all involved characters first.

» Before the Party: It's time for Casey and Jacob's birthday party! Knowing how Coppertale does it, this might be a wild night.

» Around the Fire: The large bonfire is warm and romantic. Pull up a log and grab a blanket, make some s'mores, or dance to the party music. There's a karaoke setup for anyone who feels bold enough to sing along. If you don't care for music, there's beer and soda in the ice chests, along with bins for empty bottles and cans. Don't litter. This isn't your home. Some bold students are even doing body shots as the temperature is continuing to rise, and lifting your shirt is no longer going to result in freezing to death.

» the birthday boys: Swing by and say happy birthday to Casey and Jacob! They've been given the traditional shitty crowns and makeshift thrones.

» Quidditch Beer Pong: Not far from the bonfire, Sy Stoker has set up a table with Quidpong. Nearby is a supply of red ping pong balls, Solo cups, and a waterproof signup sheet. Post your character/team under this heading to call for a challenger! Ask a friend to post results for you, or use the honour system. :)

» truth or shot: The rules are simple: tell the truth, or take a shot. Post your characters to this comment with their name in the header, and other characters will ask you uncomfortable questions.

» inside the building: This may be where the kissing games are taking place, but there's still some room to just snuggle and chat.

» Kissing Games:

Spin The Bottle: Everyone sits in a circle and takes turns spinning the bottle to find their partner. Anyone who squeezes in (or happens to be accidentally standing behind a gap in the circle) gets a shot at a kiss. People can leave and enter the game at any time. Participants will be encouraged by their drunken classmates to kiss on the mouth.

Seven Minutes in Heaven: "Heaven" is a narrow, closet-sized room adjacent to the main party, and is dark except for some cracks of light from the door. (The "door" being a heavy wooden board that's propped against the doorway and magically "locked" for seven minutes.) You can use your wand to get more light, but really, you two should be making out.

» The Woods: The prefects probably won’t let you wander too far in, but why would you want to anyway?

» the shooting star: Make a wish! If your character makes a wish (they do not need to say it out loud, just tell us what it is) something might happen to help them get what they want.

» After the Party: At midnight, prefects will be clearing the party and guiding everyone home. Don't walk back alone! Anyone left at 12:30 AM when the second wave of prefects hits the Grotto will be written up for punishment.

He doesn't wait for a bottle to spin and land on her. Hell, he isn't even playing the game anymore. They had their fun, and now he's slightly buzzed, feeling confident, and damn he does not want her kissing anyone else! So he walks up to her with what he thinks is swagger and awkwardly asks. "You want to kiss me or no?"

Not that Bianca would ever admit it, but she found herself becoming increasingly more annoyed with every person the bottle landed on for Oscar that night. Did she like him? She didn't know. She was way too drunk to try to sort anything out in her head, and he was all up in her space asking if she wanted to kiss before she could even blink.

"I could go for another seven minutes in heaven." She stumbles a little closer and gently pats his chest.

"Are you sure?" he asks, though he's already walking with her towards the stupid closet they call heaven which isn't really stupid but it's dumb it's a closet and WOW OK BRAIN SHUT UP. He is so freaking nervous. "I don't want you to do anything you don't want to do so if you don't want to kiss me you know don't kiss me. I want to kiss you though." Hesitation. "Don't let that sway your decision."

"Shhh." She hand waves his noble words (though she'd actually appreciate them if she were sober) pushing him inside the closet before he might change his mind. No one is around to hoot at them or close the janky old door, so she does it herself and twirls on he heels to face Oz again, inching closer and closer until they're pressed up against each other.

"Do you really like me, Oz?"

He is drunk but he isn't plastered, so he's cognizant enough to realize she might be too drunk to properly consent. She drags him into the closet anyway and he does not object, only hesitating from both nerves and his conscience when she starts inching closer to him.

When she asks that question, he calms down and smiles. "Yes. I absolutely do."

She pursed her lips to tried to hide the smile that was forming. A boy actually liked her again - wow! This was a weird feeling. She didn't get this way the last time, but maybe that was because it didn't mean a whole lot then. She wasn't very old after all, and there wasn't a whole lot of romance going on. She looked over Oz's cute face and smiled, resting her hands on either side of his face before leaning in to kiss him. Maybe she'd get lucky this time and this one wouldn't run off to be with a guy.

He kissed her back - it was soft and sweet, nothing terribly over-done because he knew she was drunk. He even gently ended the kiss without making her feel weird about it, he hoped. "Wait, wait. I get to ask a question." He says, his hands gently on her waist.

"Do you like me or did you just not want to hurt my feelings by saying no?"

Her eyes are still closed when the kiss is done, feeling the room spinning around her even though she can't see it and she doesn't know whether it's Oz or the alcohol that's causing it, so she just stays on the tips of her toes (cause she's short) and gently rests her forehead against his in hope that it'll go away.

"I didn't really know at first," she admits. "Liking guys is something I've been actively trying to avoid because I want stay focused on school work and graduating. And because my last boyfriend was gay and I didn't really want to go through that again." She pauses to stand back on her feet normally again, wrapping her arms around his waist and sorta tucking her herself under the crook of his neck. "I like this, though. I like how warm you are - literally and figuratively."

Not knowing at first was not something Oscar wanted to hear. He wanted to know she really did like him, though her explanation did make him feel a bit better about the whole thing. When she leans her head against him, Oscar delicately places a kiss on the top of her head.

"Well, full disclosure I don't have a gender preference when it comes to liking people." Because he didn't want that to be some weird secret, and have it hurt her feelings because he didn't say anything even though it didn't really matter to him. "But I only like one person and that is you and I wouldn't just... lead you on like that. That's messed up."

Bianca feels a sour taste in her mouth at first. Not because she has anything against people who like both genders or anything, but because it immediately makes her think back to her being left for a guy again and she doesn't want a repeat of that. Oscar's honesty helps, though. He already knows what he wants and isn't going to use her as some sexuality experiment. The question is: is she ready to date more? Well, she doesn't care at the moment whether she is or not, but she is going in for another kiss.

"I like you," she mumbles. "A lot, I think."

He is still all for kissing her, but he is painfully aware that she is drunk and she admitted to not knowing whether or not she really liked him at first. Which makes him feel extra bad for kissing her, so though he does kiss her back - it's just as gentle and kind as the first one. "I want to kiss you so bad, Bianca, but I us to be sober for it."

After a second, he lifts her face up with his finger under her chin, smiling down at her. "Because I really like you a lot, too."

Bianca's beginning to get past the point of stupid-drunk and heading straight for exhausted, so decides not to argue with him about it and kisses his cute little upturned nose before backing towards the door, pulling him along with her by the hands.

"Then maybe we should get out of here before you tempt me some more." She half-ass winks at him.

"Whatever you wish, miss. I am at your service." He says with a bow and a little laugh, easily being pulled along by her out of the closet. Their time was probably way up, anyway. He easily took her hand, feeling a lot more confidant than he had before they entered the so-called 'heaven' space. Lacing his fingers through hers, they stepped back out into the open. He was grinning like an idiot.

"Want me to walk you back to your cabin?"

"That would probably be a good idea. I don't want another spectacle where I lose my shoe and people have to run out to the woods to try to find me again. That wasn't embarrassing or anything." She scowls and squeezes his hand as they make their way out of the grotto, stumbling a few more times than what was considered normal for a person. At least she hadn't landed on her face. Yet.
