[Ribbonfin Quidditch]

Pour one out for the brave souls who drank in our stead for the quidpong tournament last night. I think I almost got De Luca killed and I feel super bad.

So, like, anyway, I know I'm just Forever Reserve Lewis or whatever, but I was looking at the numbers and thinking, and we've really benefited this year from all the long, grueling games we've had. As much as it sucked sometimes, we're on top of the points bracket because of it. I compared averages and guys, honestly? Coppertale's chasers consistently outperform us and Reid's just un-fucking-believable their seeker is unstoppable [...] also a consistent overachiever and, my dudes and dudettes, it ain't a negligible difference. Their keeper's also weaker than Avery, though, so we have that advantage.

Maybe we should try to drag this one out? More points is better for the cup, anyway.

Obviously, like, if we go this route keeping Reid distracted and off the snitch is going to be super important.

It's just not a good strategy.

If we lose focus on their chasers and our chasers are doing all the distracting so the beaters can focus on Reid, our chasers aren't going to be playing offensively. You'll be playing defensively and not scoring as much. And like Zav said, we don't just need to win, we need to win by a large margin of points so Azurcrest and Ebonhide don't have a chance of catching up, even if they blow the other team out of the water.

"Score a lot" isn't a good strategy either. It's harder than it looks, Avery. We're solid. It's awesome. But we've never managed above 160 in a game. I wish we had something else in our pocket.

100 points isn't a lot. Particularly if we get the Snitch. I just don't think we should focus so hard on stopping them from scoring and catching the Snitch and dragging the game out because even if we win, we don't score a ton of points that way and we're not that far up from Ebonhide and Azurcrest.

If we want to keep Reid on his toes, we go for something like the Wronkski Feint and have Holden confuse him. We need our Beaters to focus on their Chasers and other Beaters.
