It's almost the night of the full moon and I have something I've been wanting to get off my chest for a long time.

I'm a werewolf. Some of the staff knows-- Elmasry, Mufferaw, O'Hare, and of course Bloom and Vector-- but I've been hiding it from my friends and roommates since my 3rd year at Ilvermorny.

I'm sorry. I'm sorry I've been lying to you all these years. I'm sorry for all those times I've snuck out after curfew. I'm sorry that I've been a hidden danger sleeping in the bunk over. I just wanted to be a normal high school kid.

I'm just really worried about tomorrow night ~~because scribblescribble scribble scribble scribble scribble~~

There's only room to be chained in the Grotto for two, maybe three of us in a tight fit. The forest doesn't need any more dangers.

Who chains you up in the Grotto?

Over the years, I've gotten good at doing it myself. I only broke out one time since I've been here back in October, but I didn't hurt anyone. Just an animal. I told O'Hare right away.

You chain YOURSELF? Is that SAFE??? I mean shouldn't someone double-check it just to make sure you absolutely can't get free since you broke out that one time???

None of the fully human teachers can access the Grotto so I have to chain myself. Pennywise used to help me and he taught me ways to cope with lycanthropy from what he learned from his experience, but he retired this year. Both shifting and aging are really hard on the body so I don't blame him.

And can't the teachers chain you up somewhere that isn't the Grotto??

The Grotto's the safest. There's an alternate Grotto that exists that's similar but isn't the same as the one you're used to. The Grotto exists in its own little bubble and that's why adults can't access it unless they're somehow part beast or animal. Part of nature and the forest and all that, you know? Closer to the full moon, when we grow more bestial, we're able to enter this place. At other times during the month, Pennywise wasn't able to enter the Grotto and I'm only able to enter the one all the other students have access to.

It's safest because human students wandering around at night can't enter and find me. Nobody can hear me howl and nobody gets curious and goes searching.
