CASPER'S BIRTHDAY

When Casper enters the cabin in the evening, he finds that his roommates have transformed it into an alternative music event (© kay) featuring two giant wands hanging overhead, shooting glowing coloured streamers at each other like spells meeting in the middle. The glow of the streamers pulse in time with a loud punk rock playlist. Did anyone think to cast soundproofing charms around the cabin? They did not. Someone stop them.

BIRTHDAY FEATURES

• A sad bear cake, courtesy of the house-elves. Iliya would like everyone to know that he did not specify that it should look sad.


• Four snack bowls: fancy popcorn, nut mix, wasabi peas, and caramel- and chocolate-dipped pretzel stick wands for all your DUELING NEEDS.


• A kitten, a hedgehog, a skink and a mouse equipped with (unbreakable, pet-safe) glowstick necklaces.


• Five chairs, a whole lot of alcohol, and a proposed game of Truth or Shot.


• A fun escape from Anonymous Hell.

Sad Bear Cake

Iliya put in the request with the house-elves a couple of days ago, and they also assured him that they could discreetly bring the cake to the cabin on the day of. It's sitting on the table in front of the fireplace, with a wooden cover over it. Iliya walks past his roommates (working on the decorations) to lift the cover, and... stares a moment.

"It is a bit..." Iliya frowns. "Not happy?"

DECORATING

Cameron grabs whoever isn't absorbed in other tasks to help him decorate. He already has a stash of plum and gold streamers, which he keeps for JUST SUCH OCCASIONS. He hands them to his helpers and tells them to "just wrap everything, make it pretty."

Meanwhile, he works on the Pièce De Résistance, aka his only real idea (but he's not admitting that). He drags in two branches, transfigures them into giant wands, and hovers them over head. He hangs streamers so that it looks like one wand is shooting a gold spell, the other plum, and casts a charm over those streamers so that they glow softly (no, you can't use it on the other streamers, it will dilute the impact! >=l). Where they meet, they throw off nonflammable silver sparks.

"What else, what else," he muses to himself.

Somehow, even after the party that he'd helped put together for Wilde and Iliya, Casper doesn't see this coming. When he walks into the cabin, only to be met with the blaring music and the decorations and the animals adorned with glow sticks, not to mention the spread of food and booze, his immediate reaction is to gape and mutter dumbly, "What...the fuck?" Then understanding clicks into place and he takes an automatic step back, only to find that there's now someone between him and the door. He fixes that person with an incredibly unconvincing glare, then looks back around and surprises himself (and likely everyone else) by looking at the floor and pushing back his hair in an uncharacteristically sheepish gesture and asking through a small laugh, "What the fuck?"

He folds his arms but doesn't seem angry when he looks up again. Mostly just...like he doesn't know what he's meant to do with himself in a situation like this one. Because what is he supposed to do in a situation like this one? He has no idea.

In a fight between Iliya and Casper, Iliya would bet on the angry, athletic proto-Auror any time. But he's taller than Casper, which has to count for something when it comes to blocking him from leaving. Of course, Cameron is even taller, but it seemed more practical to put him in front than behind. He can scream "HAPPY BIRTHDAY" louder than all of them combined.

"Happy birthday," Iliya chimes in. "This is revenge."

Casper doesn't want to overdo this. He has Occlumency in the morning. But....he's not going to refuse after his roommates went to the effort. For him. Maybe he'll just have to be honest.

"All right. I'm an open book," he says dryly and with a very faint smirk. He is not. But he'll see how this goes.

"Most regretful thing you have done while drunk." They aren't actually drunk yet. Let's see if this will help.

I guess Wilde's in an introspective mood. Maybe Occlumency work does that to him?

"How do you feel when you think about graduating?"

He's wearing a dirty hoodie and watching Sid skitter around with a glowstick on.

Rarely plays this game, honestly, but it's just his cabin, so what the hell? Time to get Wednesday night drunk. Or Wednesday night transparent, but the former sounds way more fun.
