RULES:

• The game lasts only one hour, even if the Snitch is not caught.


• American rules apply.


• Bludgers are moving at only 75% speed to start out, and only cause bruising.


• The teams are given jerseys, which are actually just a bunch of Transfigured Gooseberry tees that were donated to them by Mr. Thorn.


• Mr. Thorn is present, but Milo Greer is the acting referee.


• There is no way I'm going to do those detailed write-ups Marin does, but I'll give some highlights!

CLEAR EYES v. FULL HEARTS

• The whistle blows, and Solomon jumps into action, grabbing the Quaffle and passing it to Essie.


• The opposing chasers on Clear Eyes pursue the Quaffle down the field. Essie scores one goal before Cash intercepts a pass, assisted by a Bludger from Todd that hits Jade solidly in the shoulder.


• Cash loops around and flies as far down the field as he can, with Jade hot on his heels, undeterred by her new bruise. Milo steals control of the Bludger and sends it at Cash, who passes the Quaffle to Hazel just before he's hit in the thigh and sent off-course.


• Hazel and Cash coordinate to finally make some goals, while Calvin and Todd contest the more experienced Charlotte for the Bludger, which ends up easier said than done. They take it back for Clear Eyes just long enough for their Chasers to get three goals in on Cole.


• However, when Cole blocks the fourth goal, he angles it right into the hands of Jeffy, who acrobatically loops around the competing Beaters and gets all the way down the pitch with no one to stop him.


• The combined experience of Jeffy and Solomon helps them rack up points against Issy quickly as the action has moved down to Clear Eyes' goalposts.


• Frankie and Will are right on them, though, and when Calvin and Todd break up Full Hearts' formation, they steal the Quaffle back.


• The Snitch appears near the goalposts, and Bianca and Micah are both quick to react. Unfortunately, it's on the opposite side of the pitch from them, and there are fourteen Sophomore-shaped obstacles to avoid. They weave through the other players, but Micah's willingness to risk nearly crashing into Todd allows him to get there sooner. He zips right through the middle goal, and when he swoops back around, it's clear he's caught the Snitch!


• CLEAR EYES WINS, 110 to 80. The Snitch was caught.

» THE PLAYERS: The second match is over, hopefully you felt a little more prepared this time!

» THE AUDIENCE: Hopefully these adorable babies who want to stop being called babies have some fans!

» HAPPY BIRDDAY BIRTHJAYS: Calvin, with the help of some of their friends, has arranged another surprise party, this time for Estella Morales-Tran and Micah St. Clair. The party is sophomores-only, and because of the nice weather, takes place by the docks.

» THE party: There's cake and music and decorations. Everyone wish Micah and Essie a happy sweet sixteen!

» THE lake: It's going to reach about 80°F/26°C today, so it's warm enough to swim. Some people might prefer to sit on the docks and heckle, considering that the water's still pretty chilly.

» truth or hug: Calvin personally thinks this sounds worse than original flavor truth or shot, and he was hungover from exactly that yesterday.

» THE piñata: There's an obnoxious blue bird piñata hanging from a nearby tree. Take a swing at it, and its size and magical nature guarantees there will be enough candy for everyone. This is an RNG game. Everyone can take one swing at the piñata!

Isabelle + Open to Multiple

Issy is super disappointed with her performance. She was definitely not Keeper material, and was starting to freak out. Fortunately, Micah got the Snitch and they still won so her shame was slightly lessened by that. When she flies down, she gives all her teammates hugs and tells them they did great!

She also gives hugs to Jeffy & Solo for totally ruining her Keeper potential because they did so good!

Solomon hugs Issy, and tells her that she did really well. Even though he and Jeffy kinda accidentally on purpose annihilated her, she still hung in there. He knows that playing keeper can be difficult, but she's improving.

Calvin

Calvin's exhausted, especially after having just gone up against a Beater who's not a novice. Things hadn't gone too poorly, though. He'd been expecting the worst, especially with how he'd really gone and made things a mess with his Beater partner. Luckily it seems as though things are fine as long as he doesn't hold any conversations with Todd. Perfect.

The rest of his attention is directed towards congratulating everyone on his team (while still ideally avoiding direct interaction with Todd). Micah gets a particularly bright "Brilliant job!" and it looks like Calvin might hug him but thought better of it... and then changes his mind and actually does hug him. But it's an awkward approach overall.

Hazel (Open~)

They won!!!! Hazel is determined to not gloat because that would be rude and they didn't exactly win last time... but despite her best efforts she's grinning from ear to ear when they land. She attempts to give Cash a really aggressive high five. She tries to (gently) punch Calvin in the arm. She blows kisses at Micah.

Jade

Even though they didn't win, Jade is actually very pleased to have her official First Quidditch Injury. She probably milks it and/or shows off her shoulder in some pride for the rest of the day. She's going to try to see how many underlings or freshmen she can get to pick up pens she conveniently drops until Tuesday, and it's going to be fantastic.

Cole

Over the last few weeks, Cole has been considerably more scarce than usual but he's still shown up for Quidditch practices and he still shows up for the match today. And, while he's on the quiet side, he mostly seems to be acting like his same old oblivious but good-natured self. He does as well as he can during the match and seems to take the goals that get made in stride. It's just a game, after all. And it's nice that Micah got to win and catch the Snitch just before his birthday celebration.

After the game, he makes sure to catch his old friend and congratulate him and tell him how cool he looked weaving and swooping and diving to finally catch the Snitch. He sort of wants to draw it. Would Micah mind if he draws it?

Essie!!! (Open)

Essie is all smiles when the game is over. From the moment she scored the first goal, she'd been positively buzzing with excitement. All the practicing she's put in lately is really starting to show too; her flying is tigher, her passing is better, and she avoided getting hit by any bludgers. There are huge hugs for everyone once the game is over. She's always tended towards solo sports in the past, aside from cheerleading, but win or lose, being part of a team feels amazing.

JEFFY!

THIS WAS AWESOME, JEFFY LOVES IT. Jeffy thinks every Quidditch game is awesome, to be honest, but he loves it when he gets to do cool things like taking the Quaffle all the way down the pitch, and he loves when other people do awesome things, like Micah totally nearly dying to get the Snitch. He cheered his chickabro beating them with that badass Snitch catch, because Jeffy just loves good sports, man.

He gives everyone hugs afterwards. Essie and Micah get extra hugs because they're BIRDDAY BIRTHJAYS!!!

Sam & Open to Multiple

Given her fun prom date with Solomon, Samantha is ready to join in on the fun of watching the game even though she's benched. It's all her best friends, right? Not to mention, she loves a good excitable, competitive atmosphere. She makes sure to be ready to play, but sits with the audience. Whenever Solo gets a goal (right off the bat, too!) she claps excitedly for him and yells nice things like "GO SOLOMON!" "WAY TO GO SOLO!" "THAT WAS AWESOME!"

She's disappointed their team loses, but makes sure to tell him and everyone else they did a fantastic job!

Pippa

Pippa only covered her eyes for some of the game, so she did see Essie score the first goal! GO ESSIE!! Unfortunately, she also saw Jade and Cash get hit with Bludgers. STILL, at least these Bludgers only cause bruises rather than broken bones.

She cheers for everybody, of course, and is relieved when the game is over and the party can begin!

If you have two characters in the sophomore games, one of them will almost always sit out. In order to make sure everyone interested always has a character in play, I'm not going to bench anyone with just one signed up.

If you have a preference for which one you'd rather see participate more, let me know or I'll just pick at random!
