PATRONUS STUDY SESSION

At the request of Olivia Sanchez, over the next two weeks, Ms. Lilywhite will be running open sessions helping students to cast the Patronus charm. The cafeteria is cleared for an hour every weekday after dinner, and any student is welcome to drop in to learn. As senior DADA students, Casper Kim and Mackenzie Prince are on hand to assist Ms. Lilywhite in guiding the lessons.

HOW THIS WORKS

Lessons take place after dinner for an hour every week day, except Wednesdays for D&F. Students are not required to attend every session. Because these sessions take place over 2 weeks, if your character is successful you can choose when they finally cast the charm.

If your character attends these sessions or takes DADA, they will at least learn what their patronus will be and will get a partial formation. The mods will roll to see if your character can cast a successful full-bodied patronus.

Occlumency students are presumed to already be well-versed with this spell, as it requires emotional control and self-awareness, which are invaluable skills in Occlumency, especially if you plan on becoming an Auror. Unless you choose otherwise, all Occlumency students automatically succeed, or can already cast the charm.
Occlumency students: Automatic success.
Seniors in DADA: 75% success.
Seniors not in DADA: 50% success.
Juniors in DADA: 65% success.
Juniors not in DADA: 40% success.
Sophomores in DADA: 55% success.
Sophomores not in DADA: 30% success.

If your character has been in Duelling & Fencing since at least last month (i.e. they're currently on the roster, you may not just sign up your character for D&F today to get the bonus), they'll earn a 10% bonus to their roll.

You can check if your character failed or succeeded last year by looking at this post.

If your character fails, you may ask for a reroll in the dropbox after waiting one week, but you must also link to a conversation or scene with evidence they sought tutoring from a DADA Student in their year or above, or an Occlumency student.
- They'll gain +15% to their roll if they seek tutoring from Casper or Mackenzie, who received instructions from Ms. Lilywhite on techniques to help others master this complex charm.

You may not claim your character can already cast a patronus unless they succeeded during last year's event or are in Occlumency. This applies to new characters as well as returning ones.

I hope Jeffy's the only one who handed over his ghost garbage because the adults were like "hey kids give us your shit" and he was like "what you mean this tacky best friends locket that I've had forever and ever???"

now that i've thought about it i want to say that it's absolutely canon that zach handed over his four color clicky pen and you know what? he misses it

btw before i saw lucas's reply i was deadass going to have zach turn in a blue jay keychain and now i can't remember if that's a gift they all have or if it was just a dream i had????

Ngl when I picked it out my thought was "This is probably something all the chickabros have that one of them saw in a Claire's and went in and bought five of."

They get back to school and actually at least three of them did the exact same thing, so now there's fifteen of the keychains just floating around and it's fine that Lucas traded one away, they'll grab another one out of the drawer.

I REALLY THOUGHT I'D POSTED ABOUT IT and i was like "oh!!! lucas is giving away his friendship keychain!!!! that's cute!!!!!!" but then i couldn't find any evidence i'd ever made the post??? so. it's Real.

Lucas traded off his friendship keychain and got a rave ring. I envisioned him showing it to the chickabros and them all having an aliens-from-toy-story ooooooooo reaction.
