Bonne Année, Gooseberry.
So I know the big thing for the start of the year is the "New Year New Me" schtick. What are some goals y'all have for the big one-five because I need some inspiration.

Why do you always have toI’m sure you do Tris. Yet you can’t think of a single thing for yourself. Shocking.no subject

Finding something I'm, like...actually good at for a club to put on a transcript so everyone will stop harassing me about it.
Trying to get ahead on the coursework before I get royally fucked over by the new material so that my school year is not a total loss.
I have to improve on my standard French for after graduation, but! I have a book for that!
Just being less of a lame weirdo in general? I'm taking notes, watching the Cool Kids or whatever.
Issy Trissy Squad
You’re good st most things but you don’t stick with anything long enough to discover a true talent.
We can study, too.
I’m not behind butTristan you’re not a lame weirdo. People actually like you here. Just keep being you and you’re good.
Not like meIssy Trissy Squad
Okay, like...my thought is that if I WAS good at something--wouldn't I know and stick with it? Am I missing some key thing here? Unless mediocrity is a talent but I GUESS ACTUALLY that is better than outright sucking at everything??? Consider my blessings COUNTED, wow.
I don't WANT to study, I want to be one of those natural geniuses that seem to be wandering around this place in SPADES but I may as well be SCREAMING INTO THE VOID for how likely that is. And yes I am absolutely a lame weirdo; I just make it Work For Me™. You want me to come with you to a couple drama meetings? Keep you second-hand company while I do some reading?
Issy Trissy Squad
That's not even remotely how that works Tris. Like seriously people who are amazing at things still think they suck. A lot of people don't even know they have talent because they think they actually suck.
Again that's not how it works. Even the super smart kids study. You just don't want to put any effort into anything and that's not the way the world works. You have to try. And yeah, come to drama with me. I like when you're there.
Issy Trissy Squad
And I KNOW that's not how it works, I get near-daily lectures on how much it doesn't work like that but nobody gives me any time to do anything either, so short of discovering some spell for the sudden gift of being an idiot savant out of nowhere
Wait no
I'm not going to do this
This is not something to get all up in my feelings about
This is the whole point of the new year resolution thing
Ignore ^^^ most of that ^^^ except for the first part about French and my matriarchs being scary as all get-out. But yeah, I'll come to drama with you. Maybe meet some of fresh meat and scare them all with stories of the seniors.
Issy Trissy Squad
How do you not have time? You've tasted the waters of every club. What do you like doing? I'm not particularly good at anything but I genuinely enjoy art, drama, and singing. So I do those things. What do you LIKE to do?
The seniors aren't nearly as terrifying as these Sophomores. I think one of them wanted to eat fake blood for fun? And they have this desire to be violent I've seen? Except [...] some of them are nice. But mostly a little scary.
Issy Trissy Squad
We'll work on itThat's not what I meant, exactly. It's hard to explain. Like yeah I have ~dipped my toe~ in and everything but because I felt like I...had to? Not because I really had an interest or anything? Again, hard to explain. Hockey's been good though, but it's not for always.
No, see, we can't tell them about how Sophomores become terrifying. It will give them Ideas. Much better for them to be terrified of us next year so that we don't have an Underclassmen Uprising on our hands.
