Bonne Année, Gooseberry.
So I know the big thing for the start of the year is the "New Year New Me" schtick. What are some goals y'all have for the big one-five because I need some inspiration.

Also, you can't be a new you because there is no improving on perfection, obviously.
My goal this year...probably to get better at ASL for sure. And maybe finding something I'm good at? I kinda just BS'd the start of the school year away and I should probably take this more seriously. Maybe improve my French a little since I have to go to France after graduation. But the first two for sure.

i'm not perfect. change is hard, though.
oh!! yeah. i guess that should be our whole cabin's goal. since we're practicing. [...] what do you think you'll take more seriously??

Your fallacious statement regarding your own perfectness is not worthy of a response!!!
True!! I think I'm playing a little bit of catch-up, since I'm new. But I like it. Being able to talk to lots more people in different ways is cool!! As for the rest, I [...] probably need to start doing this academic stuff a lot more seriously. Thinking about my future and everything. It's just hard for me most of the time. So I'll try harder, maybe try to get ahead some before the teachers realize the break is actually over so that I have a little buffer between me and struggling through the new material.
Do you think Calvin can be pseudo-bribed into helping me with Potions?

[...] i wish you'd stop saying that, though.
i think the teachers know the break is over?? we had class. but working ahead makes sense. nate does that too. he reads ahead and makes cursory notes before the lectures; he says it makes it easier to see how all the material fits together. i've never done it, though. and i think you could probably just ask calvin. i think he'd say 'yes'.

what's the word
facetious? I think. Joking, anyway. But second semester goes fast, so...have to start acting like I actually deserve my spot here before they toss me out on my ass and you guys have to get used to some other guy.
