SWIMMING PARTY

Finals are coming up fast, and also there's some weird shit going on in the woods or whatever, so Eileen thinks a bit of chilling out will probably be good for everyone. And what's a better way to chill out than swimming? Like last year, it's held in a nice area near Ribbonfin free from the prying eyes of adult types, so you can get nude or as close to it as you'd like without fear of scolding, and partake of illegal substances - in moderation, of course. This isn't supposed to be a rager. Eileen would never organize something like that; she's a good girl.

HOW THIS WORKS

• This is just a sweet and simple swimming party, and everyone is invited! As it states above, you can go skinny dipping, drink and smoke in moderation, and generally have fun since the teachers can't see you! Don't get too crazy, though. Getting caught is still a possibility.


• Skinny dipping is being heavily encouraged by Eileen, but is obviously not required.


• As Lake Gooseberry is a mountain lake, the water's a little chilly. It's also got leeches, so... watch out!


• Hey, look, there's still that rope swing!! It's off a small ledge, so you can use to send yourself flying into the water! I'll RNG the quality of your swing and also, if desired, the number of leeches who are your new friends.


• The party begins at 3:00 PM and goes until 8:00PM, to give you time to get back before the new curfew at 8:30PM.

» BEFORE THE PARTY: Grab your bathing suits (unless you plan to bare it all) and your friends and hustle down to Ribbonfin.

» THE SHORE: There are some logs you can sit on, and drinks if you want them, along with sunscreen. Skin cancer is real, kids. Rupert Wick and Ferdinand Ayers seem to be playing unofficial lifeguards, and will fuss at you if you're drinking too much and trying to swim, or if you try anything too risky on the rope swing. BEHAVE!!!

» SWIMMING: The water's a little chilly and you're not alone (leeches, Goosey, etc.), but it's clear and refreshing.

» THE ROPE SWING: Climb up to the small ledge, get some momentum and go! Adventurous students might want to try pulling off a flip. Post here for RNG results on quality of swing, and number of leeches now attached to you if desired.

This whole event has a strange deja vu vibe to it. Last year at about this time, she'd been sipping lemonade at the big birds' goodbye party that this year, she was going to plan, and hopefully ruin. She'd worn the same swimsuit she had on today, and hid the same evidence of sleepless nights behind large sunglasses. Only last year at about this time, all she'd been scared of was a ghost named Henry who didn't have a head, and something in the woods unidentified. Today, Henry had a face, she has a piece of the mysterious woods being rolled tightly in her fist, and her legs are still lined with bruises from her fall down a mine shaft. She ostensibly has more answers, but she doesn't feel any more at peace. It's frustrating.

The only thing she'd really learned in a year was to actually bring books to parties, to add that one further edge of carefree. It's a little sketchbook today, and Jade's taking her mind off the way she darts her eyes to the forest every five seconds by tracing out what looks to be massive drops and skeleton traps. "Is there a way to make stainless fake blood?" She wonders aloud, jotting down what she thinks is the formula for normal blood. She'll have to ask Cole. There's no better therapy than deeply immersing oneself in the frightening of the rest of the campus, and Jade's just fine.

Iliya is aware of how patently ridiculous it is to be studying by the lake on a beautiful sunny day, but he has to get some points for fun if he studies here instead of the library, yes? Short sleeves appear to be Iliya's only concession to the weather; otherwise he's in his usual monochromatic attire, black hair falling into his face as he bends over a Hermeticism textbook and his disorganized notes.

Exams aren't for another few weeks, but he feels utterly ill-prepared for all of them. Does it even matter? A musician doesn't need to pass his classes in order to play well. But... it would make his mother happy. Iliya sighs and looks up, searching for his friends in the water. Searching for one person in particular.

Ira & Open! To Multiple!

It's a June miracle. Ira, king of studying in every situation conceivable, has left a stack of books neatly covered in a shirt on the shore. There's finals in a few weeks, but he's sitting on solid A's, and the water's kind of warm today. Their days are numbered here.

So Ira's not really worried about Hermeticism. Instead, he kicks up his legs from the bottom of the lake, avoiding leeches neatly. He finds a friend to get behind, dry or not, and sends a playful handful of water at them, accidentally on purpose. He's actually pretty annoying when he's not concentrating on school.

Georgie + Open

Georgie lounges on her back, just below the surface of the water. It's hard to tell if she's skinny dipping or wearing literally all of her clothes, because they're both kind of weird choices here. People splash down from the rope swing nearby, others shoot water guns, and she floats, barely moving at all. It almost seems like she's asleep. Maybe she should have grabbed something to float on if she wanted to take a nap out here, though.

Ursula is bringing the crabbies along for a relaxing afternoon of big hats and fruity drinks by the beach leech water.
Essie no longer peeps at naked upperclassmen through bushes (thanks for the lesson, Diego!!!) but will be getting rowdy in the water and running around with squirt guns.
Pear finds other naked humans uncomfortable!! She is probably not here.
January is elated to spend the day drinking heavily and showing off her tits.

Lucas is deeply self-conscious with all the naked folks around but god damn it he's going to ACTUALLY DO THE ROPE SWING this year. And he's totally going to belly flop. But at LEAST he'll DO IT.
Nisha is similarly self-conscious but the siren's song of dying on a rope swing calls to her.
Yancey is definitely getting into that leech water. Is my most likely to be naked which is just embarrassing for me and all of my characters.
