SWIMMING PARTY

Finals are coming up fast, and also there's some weird shit going on in the woods or whatever, so Eileen thinks a bit of chilling out will probably be good for everyone. And what's a better way to chill out than swimming? Like last year, it's held in a nice area near Ribbonfin free from the prying eyes of adult types, so you can get nude or as close to it as you'd like without fear of scolding, and partake of illegal substances - in moderation, of course. This isn't supposed to be a rager. Eileen would never organize something like that; she's a good girl.

HOW THIS WORKS

This is just a sweet and simple swimming party, and everyone is invited! As it states above, you can go skinny dipping, drink and smoke in moderation, and generally have fun since the teachers can't see you! Don't get too crazy, though. Getting caught is still a possibility.

Skinny dipping is being heavily encouraged by Eileen, but is obviously not required.

As Lake Gooseberry is a mountain lake, the water's a little chilly. It's also got leeches, so... watch out!

Hey, look, there's still that rope swing!! It's off a small ledge, so you can use to send yourself flying into the water! I'll RNG the quality of your swing and also, if desired, the number of leeches who are your new friends.

The party begins at 3:00 PM and goes until 8:00PM, to give you time to get back before the new curfew at 8:30PM.

» BEFORE THE PARTY: Grab your bathing suits (unless you plan to bare it all) and your friends and hustle down to Ribbonfin.

» THE SHORE: There are some logs you can sit on, and drinks if you want them, along with sunscreen. Skin cancer is real, kids. Rupert Wick and Ferdinand Ayers seem to be playing unofficial lifeguards, and will fuss at you if you're drinking too much and trying to swim, or if you try anything too risky on the rope swing. BEHAVE!!!

» SWIMMING: The water's a little chilly and you're not alone (leeches, Goosey, etc.), but it's clear and refreshing.

» THE ROPE SWING: Climb up to the small ledge, get some momentum and go! Adventurous students might want to try pulling off a flip. Post here for RNG results on quality of swing, and number of leeches now attached to you if desired.

Iliya is aware of how patently ridiculous it is to be studying by the lake on a beautiful sunny day, but he has to get some points for fun if he studies here instead of the library, yes? Short sleeves appear to be Iliya's only concession to the weather; otherwise he's in his usual monochromatic attire, black hair falling into his face as he bends over a Hermeticism textbook and his disorganized notes.

Exams aren't for another few weeks, but he feels utterly ill-prepared for all of them. Does it even matter? A musician doesn't need to pass his classes in order to play well. But... it would make his mother happy. Iliya sighs and looks up, searching for his friends in the water. Searching for one person in particular.

Cameron isn't hard to find even when he isn't wearing an obnoxious pair of Ebonhide colored swim trunks that he's almost certainly going to take off over the course of this party. He isn't in the water, though. He had been earlier, but by the time Iliya looks for him, he's gone. He isn't visible anywhere along the shore, either.

It becomes clear where Cameron has gotten to when a familiar voice drawls from behind Iliya, "You look awful hot wearing all that black in the sun." Before he can respond, cold water hits the back of Iliya's head and runs down his spine.

Iliya makes an undignified yelp as water hits him, and he curls up on himself in surprise, which just causes water to drip forward onto his notes. Shit. Iliya tosses his papers and book aside with less reverence than Professor Vector deserves, and twists around to glare at his attacker. It's useless, with Cameron. Especially when he's dressed like this.

Through force of will, Iliya maintains his annoyed expression anyway. "I do not have summer clothes." No surprise, he'd shown up in these same black jeans and T-shirt in Miami. Which had been miserable, but at this point, he's just being obstinate about it. Iliya runs a hand through his soggy hair. "Blagodarya vi, che kazvate, che sum 'hot,'" he jokes, with a totally straight face.

Iliya's wet hair hangs limply in front of his eyes, but his glare lacks the heat it might have once had. He looks like an indignant kitten. Cameron doesn't even feign shame, just laughs with the empty solo cup still in his hand. "You could have borrowed some. You could just take your shirt off now, though. It's wet anyway," he says. "In fact, you can borrow my shorts too, if you want," he adds impishly, hooking his thumbs under the waistband.

By now, Cameron knows that despite the harsh sounding consonants, Iliya isn't usually cursing him in Bulgarian. Of course, today he might actually be telling him to go go to hell, given the circumstances. He isn't put off. "So, are you going to do the rope swing with me?"

Iliya's eyes flick down to Cameron's shorts, and he feels himself go red. "No," he says too quickly, but rises to his feet anyway, all notions of studying forgotten. He forgets everything else too easily when he's in Cameron's company. "It is only water. It will not kill me." The back of his shirt is completely soaked with water, and sticking to his skin. It's not exactly comfortable, but Iliya feigns indifference as he looks over his shoulder to the rope swing. "Everyone who has tried that has come out with leeches."

"You sure? I don't mind," Cameron teases, nudging his shorts just a little lower. He's having entirely too much fun with Iliya's embarrassment, but he does, in fact, leave his trunks on. For the moment, anyway. "You don't have to be self conscious, plenty of people are more than just shirtless," he says, gesturing around them. "Though, if you decide to leave all your clothes on, that should help with leeches, right? They don't much like sunscreen, either." He shrugs, "And if you get a couple, they're only leeches. They won't kill you. And I'll help you get them off. Have you even really been to camp school if you haven't gotten a few ticks and leeches?"
