ST. PATRICK'S DAY PITY PARTY

Oh my god. You are so hungover. Or maybe your friend is hungover. Either way, everyone knows Gooseberry goes hard on St. Patrick's Day, and this year was no exception. It's tradition for everyone to drag themselves out to Coppertale to try and recover and look for some pity.

WHAT'S GOING ON

• This is a simple IC/OOC for all your hurt/comfort hangover needs.


• This is very freeform! Use the elsewhere header if you want to do a scene... well, elsewhere.


• If you come to hassle the poor drunks you'll be asked to leave! Haven't they suffered enough?

» Coppertale: The fire pit has been lit, there's coffee, water, and a nice simple breakfast. Vector passes through once, and clucks her tongue at the sick children. She doesn't bother to speak quietly if engaged, but she doesn't comment on the evidence of a party as long as no one looks bad enough to see Mufferaw. She doesn't linger long.

» The Lodge: Addy Foster-Hayes is reportedly brewing a hangover cure. There's also food available in the cafeteria, and plenty of big cushy chairs in the atrium.

» Elsewhere: Anything else goes here.

Being a part of the Hangover Crew in Ribbonfin is kind of shameful. Especially when you're a prefect. Rosy tries to put on her best smile and "I'm totally together right now I've got this shit" face, but she is pale and there are bags under her eyes and her hair is only half brushed and, like, everything hurts?

Oh god, going to Coppertale where all her favorite terrible people are seems like a great idea. Or the closest thing to a great idea she's had in at least twenty-four hours.

She picks at a banana in her hand and nurses her coffee and hides her face when Vector comes through because oh fuck no that's her favorite teacher oh no what if she judges me.

Robin

Oh fuck yeah, there's food at camp, Robin doesn't have to drag his sorry ass all the way to the lodge. He tried to get up, do his alcoholic roots proud and soldier on with his life earlier. Tess had even fucking made him run this morning, though after he left a puddle of what he thinks used to be green cookies on the side of the trail and she told him to vanish it, he just turned around and went back to camp. Nope. Not today. If this was what made the difference between him achieving his dreams and him just being some dumbshit criminal, he was opting for the criminal lifestyle. This was actually painful.

He sits on the balcony to his cabin and acts like he doesn't keep drifting off to sleep, but he totally keeps closing his eyes and just going to sleep. It's probably for the best. No one wants to fall asleep out in the open in Coppertale, but if he gets fucked with he's probably earned it.

Solomon is laying. He's not sure what he's laying on. It he's laying and he's pretty sure he's dying. He can't move because his head has turned into a rock. He's not entirely sure he isn't still drunk. He hasn't done enough research on natural hangover cures. He wasn't prepared enough for this. How do the seniors even do this. They seem so professional about it?

Oh my god, is she dead? Penelope didn't win the drinking game or anything, only managing to get tipsy for a while but she went harder later and managed to get herself a tremendously awful hangover. She didn't remember the latter half of her night, either. Whoops? Maybe someone can fill her in on details.

Either way, in a pair of too-big but comfortable jeans and a hooded sweater, sans make-up and hair pulled up into a bun, Penny drags her ass outside of the cabins to get some coffee. The food smells great, but her stomach turns at the thought of eating. Maybe later.

Instead, she takes a seat by the firepit and sips her coffee, wincing at alllll the loud sounds.

Coralee is a monster

Wow, everyone looks, like, really pale and gross this morning. Even the bags under their eyes have bags. Oh whoops, Coralee just dropped a Decoy Detonator that she just happened to be carrying! Gosh, how unfortunate. Wonder where that's going to go off? Coralee isn't sticking around to find out~

Ty & Quinn, who would like to be pitied, please.

There's a knock on the senior Coppertale boys' cabin shortly before the Pity Party gets underway. It's a very pathetic and weak knock, delivered by a certain Azurcrest who's supporting herself leaning against the doorway.

Quinn looks about as good as she feels, with her hair shoved into a messy bun and dressed in joggers and a sweater so obnoxiously loud that it's making her headache worse. ('Getting dressed' meant reaching blindly into her closet for something that felt cozy.) Oh, and there are bags under her eyes but they're sort of obscured by her goddamn glasses because this fucking genius didn't take out her contacts last night and she can't get all the way to goddamn Coppertale blind as a bat. This is, like, her darkest secret. She's hoping people just don't recognize her; she'll say she's a new transfer. No one will suspect a thing.

She's not even going to pretend that she's here for anything except pity and cuddling.

Quinn with a side of self-loathing

Quinn's been wishing she were dead since she woke up. Her brain feels like it's three times smaller than it should be but like, attached to her skull, and it's trying to pull the sides of her head in. Or something. And then there's the regret. Oh, Lord, is it ever strong. She read the comments she wrote last night (or at least the ones she could find...) and she's positive that nothing could have been worse. Nothing.

After she accosts Ty with pitiful puppy-dog eyes, she drags him over to a log, grabs a cup of desperation coffee and a banana, and curls up to mope. She looks like shit (except she took off her glasses out of stubbornness and now has little idea what's going on). If someone stabs her with a plastic knife right now, she deserves it. This is not a great day to be Quinn Cunningham.

Laurel

Isn't 100% sure she remembers everything she did last night, but the things she does remember are semi-embarrassing, so she'll just be here quietly not touching her food & holding a coffee cup tight in her somewhat shaky hands. She's still wearing half of her outfit from last night and for unknown reasons there's a lot of glitter in her hair.

Casey's here! He doesn't need your pity, because unlike YOU IDIOTS, HE didn't do So Totally Overboard! He's only kind of hungover but he's not admitting it!

He IS, however, wearing his crown.

Rafael

Rafael did not drink, so this morning he's primarily focusing on guard duty, chasing off anyone who's being too loud. Mostly this means a lot of scolding freshmen who mistake the gathering for an impromptu hangout spot, and end up giggling and joking too loudly.

If you're in need of attention, though, it's easy to convince him to come over and fuss.

Tess Noble

Tess was fiiiiine, okay. She even dragged Robin on their morning run! And after Robin puked and turned back, she called him a little bitch. Then she puked and turned back herself. In solidarity.

After that, she sleeps two more hours, waking up to wander outside the cabin around lunch time with a bottle of water and a pack of saltine crackers.

THE LODGE

Riley

Curled up in a little ball on a big cushy comfy chair in the atrium, shamrock pin still pinned to her chest because she has definitely not changed her clothes, Riley looks and feels like shit. She might not smell that great either.

Anyone who attempts to talk to her will either get a dramatically overacted and cutesily worded description of how awful she feels, or kicked at.

Clem, 98% dead after quidditch practice (OPEN)

Clementine is the dumbest person in the world, maybe. By lunchtime she's definitely, like, rehydrated and everything. But her entire body hurts. Not just from hangover aches, but because she made the genius decision to participate in Quidditch practice despite the fact that she was already 77% dead when she woke up this morning.

She lays on a sofa in the atrium, occasionally half-sitting up to drink a sip of water out of her water bottle. It's a fairly pathetic sight to behold.

Antonia in the Music Room

Antonia is fresh as a daisy, up early and off to the music room where she's tooling around on the piano with a chipper tune. She's trying to keep the playing soft, at least. But it's hard not to get into an Earth, Wind & Fire song.

Casper isn't going to the pity party at Coppertale. He probably isn't doing much beyond sleeping and drinking a lot of water if he can help it. His cabinmates may think he's dead, but anyone that dares to push back the curtain and look into his bunk will very likely be glared at if he's awake.

No. No. Just leave him alone, world.

Diego & Ravi & Senior Ribbonfin Boys

Diego forgets where he is when he wakes up. It takes him a second to realize this is not his bed. This isn't even his cabin. Diego's head is pounding and his stomach is churning uncomfortably, but he's coherent enough to take in his surroundings this time. It's very plain. No frivolous decorations. Not even a photograph. The messiest thing in here is Diego's hair.

Notably, Ravi is no longer with him. Diego lets himself wallow in his disappointment (and his headache) for a minute before he finally peeks out from behind the privacy curtain to see what's going on outside. Wait. Where are his glasses? Ugh.

Some pathetic noises can be heard as Diego retreats back into the bed to look for his glasses, which are safely sitting on Ravi's desk below him.
