SHINNY CHAMPIONSHIPS: ROSEMARY'S REVENGE V. HAZEL'S HELLHOUNDS

Guys. It's time for the last hockey game of the season. The last hockey game of Rosy's career at Gooseberry. It's a very important game, and Hazel has actually pulled out a few extra stops because she wants her co-organizer's final game to be a doozy. The trees all along the edge of the lake are charmed with small, bobbing orbs of light, and there's a table full of sparklers to play with before or after the game. Captains Rosemary Stoker and Hazel Keating have pinnies that are definitely glittery, and everyone else's have a faint glow to them. Oh, yeah, the names changed again too. But you're used to that by now.
The game is in the evening after dinner so people don't have to get up super early after a wild night at the dance! Despite the lake being quite frozen, Mr. Thorn has still laid down neon yellow markers to indicate the areas where skaters are least likely to fall in and die. A red rectangle has been charmed into the ice to show the rink’s boundaries, and two piles of snow connected by a thick blue line in the ice make up the goals. Floating orbs light the "rink" and stands well enough that no one should have too many problems, and just to help out a bit more the puck lightly glows for visibility.
Before they begin, the rules are explained to everyone. If you know what's good for you, you won't try to push your luck with these girls.

GENERAL RULES
- No wands on the ice except for the referee.
- Players must abide by the Personal Contact Policies
- Any player found to be ignoring the badge system will be immediately ejected from the game.
- Players are not allowed to administer contact beyond their own level. (ex. Green badges cannot check Red badges and vice-versa.)
- There are no positions or goalies.
- As the teams are so large, the game duration has been extended to two hours to allow each player ample time on the ice. Each player will spend at least 10 minutes on the bench (with 7–8 benched at a time).
- Helmets and mouthguards are mandatory for all players, any other padding is left to the discretion of the student. Figure skates are not allowed for safety reasons.
- For their safety, no students are allowed to cross the neon yellow markers.
As they arrive, each player is reminded of their team assignment and is given a pinny in the color of their team (red on orange for Rosemary's Revenge and black on blue for Hazel's Hellhounds) and their Choose-Your-Bruise badge. Every badge is in the shape of a circle. They're also informed that the gameplay is, thankfully, normal tonight. Still, that doesn't mean nothing exciting is happening.
Freshman are set up at a table with a bunch of blank award ribbons. After players pick up their pinny and badge, they should swing by and get something special...

HOW THIS WORKS:
- The puck drops at 7:00pm. Push the tiny thing towards the larger thing and try not to let anybody else get it!
- Fill out the form posted under the appropriate team heading to find out how your character did. Did they score? Did they get hurt? Did they fall through the ice? (Probably no one will fall through the ice. Probably.)
- For this game, freshman have handed out award ribbons with superlatives on them! It's... unclear if some of them are just assigned randomly. (They received these at the beginning of the game, but we'll hand them out as you check in)
- The referee for this match is Zachary Zheng. He's way nicer than Clem.
- There's a slight chance your character might get hurt! Healer Mufferaw is on the sidelines to handle any injuries the kids might sustain on the ice, but minor cuts and bruises might be handled by Pre-Healer Studies students!
- Goals and injuries will be reported by either
browbeats or
lilwitchhazel
- The final scores will be determined 7:00 PM MST Tuesday, February 20! Characters can still check in to see how they did and whether or not they were injured, but any goals they score will not count toward the final score.
» TEAM 1. ROSEMARY'S REVENGE & TEAM 2. HAZEL'S HELLHOUNDS: Where the action happens. Check in here to see how your kid did!
» RESULTS: Progress reports will appear here when we hit around the halfway point and when the time is up.
» SPECTATORS & BENCHES: Each team has its own bench closest to the shore for players currently not on the ice, where 7-8 players will be benched at any given time. Temporary benches for spectators have been set up on the shore, and all students and staff are welcome to cheer on their favorite team. Blankets and warming charms are recommended, and hot chocolate is available. Snuggle up, wave flags, show blatant favoritism!
» AFTER THE GAME: It's the last game! Have some fun!! There's a table full of sparklers, and Hazel might be able to slip a little something into your hot chocolate when Healer Mufferaw isn't looking. And, of course, merciless gloating is basically tradition by this point.
» OOC - QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS!

TEAM 1. ROSEMARY'S REVENGE
Play: How are they playing today? You might mention if they’re particularly offensive or defensive and if they’re improving. Perhaps they’re worked up, and break the rules by accident? Are they trying to deal contact to anybody in particular?
Are you okay with being injured? If yes, there’s a slight chance your character may be injured. If not, the invisible hand of fate will keep your lucky child safe for another day.
- GREEN: Falling on butts. Sore faces from gloating grins about feeling a'right.
- ORANGE: Mild bruising, existential crises at potential pointlessness of existence.
- PURPLE: No broken bones is the best we can guarantee.
- RED: Uh you won't die and you *probably* won’t break an arm. Broken noses are fair game, though.
Score: Rate their performance on a scale from 1-10.#27 Essie Morales-Tran!!!
Play: You know what? She's probably being just as bad as Ursula. She's watching the puck, but don't be surprised if there's a mid-ice storyline about having to team up with the enemy to save a swan.
Are you okay with being injured? Always
Score: 4
GOALS
Re: GOALS
#21 Paris Holloway
Play: A date with a spider + a morning of violence is a perfect combination to put Pear in the best mood of her life. She's giving this her all, hitting as hard as she can, gleefully knocking around opposing team players.
Are you okay with being injured? For sure.
Score: 10

Re: GOALS
#39 Spencer Sweet
Play: Spencer's distracted. His attention is squarely on Ira, and he makes way too many excuses to get close to him. He's easily derailed by anyone teasing him, and the most effort he puts out is to try and land some fancy jumps to impress his.... uh, well, actually he's not sure what they are yet. Oh well. Ira watch this!!!
Are you okay with being injured? Yep!!! He's being a moron and might end up hurting himself trying to do a triple axel entirely unrelated to hockey.
Score: 5
GOALS
#33 Antonia Papadakis
Play: She's been playing hockey for two years now and has somehow managed to not improve at all. It's the last game of her senior year and it might as well be the first of her freshman year. Nia is more invested in being a doofus than playing.
Are you okay with being injured? no lol JK Y E S
Score: 5.
GOALS
#41 Reid Wainwright
Play: Still a step behind the Stokers in skill and a leap behind them in aggression. Reid's trying hard today, though. It's the last game of the season and he wants a win. He's also still a little shaken up about missing the Snitch for the first time in forever, so he might be overcompensating.
Are you okay with being injured? Kill him.
Score: 8

REID INJURED!
#19 Griffin Flowers
Play: Griffin realizes two games in that he actually doesn't like being hit why the hell did he pick a red badge?????
Are you okay with being injured? Yes, punch him for sleeping on the ice.
Score: 3
GOALS & GRIFFIN INJURED
GRIFFIN INJURED
#3 Ferdinand Ayers
Play: Much like Ursula he's uh. Not trying very hard. He's avoiding the freshmen, having had enough of their antics at the dance last night, but he's mostly using this as an opportunity to be a good head boy and congratulate everyone for a good season. There's also a lot of avoiding Ursula, thereby flirting. Lots of talking. Little playing. He doesn't trip and fall though (uh, probably...?) which is the only reason he gets above a 2 from me.
Are you okay with being injured? Murder him.
Score: 3
GOALS
#31 Tuesday North
Play: She's had a FEW good hockey games under her belt now, and she's feeling pretty confident. Suave Tuesday's out in full swing, and she continues that today, as long as humanly possible? Not that long, probably
Are you okay with being injured? YEP
Score: Gonna go big on Day Last and give my girl a 9 :(
GOALS & TUESDAY INJURED
TUESDAY INJURED!
#1 Rosemary Revenge Stoker
Play: Rosy is on point. It's her last game of her high school career, and she doesn't want to admit it, but she's kind of touched that Hazel went to extra trouble to make this a good game. Which just means she's going to have to work extra hard to slaughter them. She's aggressive and seems to be in a weirdly good mood, which isn't normal and she should stop that.
Are you okay with being injured? It would only be fitting.
Score: 10 FOR MY DEVIL DAUGHTER
GOALS
#13 Dinah Dixon
Play: Dinah put her skates on the wrong feet and spent the entire time telling everyone that she just likes them that way, it's more comfortable. She's basically a four-year-old.
Are you okay with being injured? I don't know how she avoids being injured on a daily basis.
Score: 4 for my dumb dumb.

#29 Fern Mufferaw
Play: It's the last game of the year, and Rosy deserves her best, so that's what she's going to get. Fern is aggressive at both offense and defense, and she hopes it's a particularly memorable game, even if someone has to die for it.
Are you okay with being injured? Always
Score: 10. Go big or go home.
GOALS & FERN INJURED
FERN INJURED
#15 Reece
Play: This is his last hockey game ever!!! He's never going to voluntarily participate in a sport again after he graduates! So he's doing his most out there, which is still not... great? But it's a notable improvement.
Are you okay with being injured? God I'm gonna say no just to spare him the embarrassment of getting a papercut or smthng.
Score: 6!!!

Re: GOALS
#43
Play: Extra hard to make up for creating an awkward situation! How does doing well at hockey stop Danny's feelings from possibly being hurt? It doesn't, but at least her energy's going somewhere! She's a hassle-your-friends-during-sports-to-show-affection type, so she's gunning for Ophelia, Ira, Avery, Madison, Ruby, and Toby.
Are you okay with being injured? Yes
Score: 10 for her only hockey ever
GOALS
#11 Jaime Castillo
Play: The Valentine's Dance was a little weird?? But Jaime's feeling pretty good, still, and he's excited to try a bit harder this game since it's the last one he'll probably ever play. He's playing moderately defensive because he's... not really capable enough to play aggressively.
Are you okay with being injured? Yep!
Score: Hey let's give him a 6, so improved.
GOALS
# 23 Concordia Knight
Play: She might be aiming for Quentin, like a lot. And maybe she is aggressive and not her usual cheery peppy self. She looks like she's on a mission, or maybe just trying to play-out her inner turmoil. She's not skilled enough to be an accurate shot, so sorry anyone who gets caught in her attempts to murder a Youngblood.
Are you okay with being injured? Knock this girl out.
Score: 6
GOALS & CONCORDIA INJURED!
CONCORDIA INJURED!
#37 Sylvester Stoker
Play: Final shinny, and he owes it to Rosemary's Revenge to play his best. He also isn't going to question why the fuck his sister is so chipper after what should've been an awful date at an awful Valentine's dance because that's, like, not his business. He's not thinking about it. HE'S FOCUSED.
Are you okay with being injured? Take him out.
Score: 10 LET'S BRING THIS HOME

Re: SY INJURED!
#35 Micah St. Clair
Play: ...Yeah, forget it. We're close enough to the dance that Micah's still in a fun time high, so goals are not the goal here. But maybe throwing himself in the path of Hazel, Calvin, Jeffy, Todd, Ana or Sam might help? Just a little? HEY GUYSSSSS pay attention to himmmmmm.
Are you okay with being injured? None of my children deserve to live.
Score: A generous 6.

- RED: Uh you won't die and you *probably* won’t break an arm. Broken noses are fair game, though.
Score: Rate their performance on a scale from 1-10.#26 Ursula de Luca
Play: Gonna be honest with you, it's Valentine's week and this is her last chance to be a pest on the ice, so Ursula's definitely spending more time 'just happening' to bump into Ferdie and clacking her stick against his than she is worrying about the puck. Not your top player for a championship game!
Are you okay with being injured? Yep
Score: 3
GOALS
#4 Ira Ashworth
Play: Hey, Ira's a LITTLE distracted. He's trying to keep his head in the game but if he smiles and/or tries to check Spencer one too many times...well. He won't admit that. But this is the last game, and he is representing Hazel's name today, so that's really important, too.
