SHINNY CHAMPIONSHIPS: ROSEMARY'S REVENGE V. HAZEL'S HELLHOUNDS

Guys. It's time for the last hockey game of the season. The last hockey game of Rosy's career at Gooseberry. It's a very important game, and Hazel has actually pulled out a few extra stops because she wants her co-organizer's final game to be a doozy. The trees all along the edge of the lake are charmed with small, bobbing orbs of light, and there's a table full of sparklers to play with before or after the game. Captains Rosemary Stoker and Hazel Keating have pinnies that are definitely glittery, and everyone else's have a faint glow to them. Oh, yeah, the names changed again too. But you're used to that by now.
The game is in the evening after dinner so people don't have to get up super early after a wild night at the dance! Despite the lake being quite frozen, Mr. Thorn has still laid down neon yellow markers to indicate the areas where skaters are least likely to fall in and die. A red rectangle has been charmed into the ice to show the rink’s boundaries, and two piles of snow connected by a thick blue line in the ice make up the goals. Floating orbs light the "rink" and stands well enough that no one should have too many problems, and just to help out a bit more the puck lightly glows for visibility.
Before they begin, the rules are explained to everyone. If you know what's good for you, you won't try to push your luck with these girls.

GENERAL RULES
- No wands on the ice except for the referee.
- Players must abide by the Personal Contact Policies
- Any player found to be ignoring the badge system will be immediately ejected from the game.
- Players are not allowed to administer contact beyond their own level. (ex. Green badges cannot check Red badges and vice-versa.)
- There are no positions or goalies.
- As the teams are so large, the game duration has been extended to two hours to allow each player ample time on the ice. Each player will spend at least 10 minutes on the bench (with 7–8 benched at a time).
- Helmets and mouthguards are mandatory for all players, any other padding is left to the discretion of the student. Figure skates are not allowed for safety reasons.
- For their safety, no students are allowed to cross the neon yellow markers.
As they arrive, each player is reminded of their team assignment and is given a pinny in the color of their team (red on orange for Rosemary's Revenge and black on blue for Hazel's Hellhounds) and their Choose-Your-Bruise badge. Every badge is in the shape of a circle. They're also informed that the gameplay is, thankfully, normal tonight. Still, that doesn't mean nothing exciting is happening.
Freshman are set up at a table with a bunch of blank award ribbons. After players pick up their pinny and badge, they should swing by and get something special...

HOW THIS WORKS:
- The puck drops at 7:00pm. Push the tiny thing towards the larger thing and try not to let anybody else get it!
- Fill out the form posted under the appropriate team heading to find out how your character did. Did they score? Did they get hurt? Did they fall through the ice? (Probably no one will fall through the ice. Probably.)
- For this game, freshman have handed out award ribbons with superlatives on them! It's... unclear if some of them are just assigned randomly. (They received these at the beginning of the game, but we'll hand them out as you check in)
- The referee for this match is Zachary Zheng. He's way nicer than Clem.
- There's a slight chance your character might get hurt! Healer Mufferaw is on the sidelines to handle any injuries the kids might sustain on the ice, but minor cuts and bruises might be handled by Pre-Healer Studies students!
- Goals and injuries will be reported by either
browbeats or
lilwitchhazel
- The final scores will be determined 7:00 PM MST Tuesday, February 20! Characters can still check in to see how they did and whether or not they were injured, but any goals they score will not count toward the final score.
» TEAM 1. ROSEMARY'S REVENGE & TEAM 2. HAZEL'S HELLHOUNDS: Where the action happens. Check in here to see how your kid did!
» RESULTS: Progress reports will appear here when we hit around the halfway point and when the time is up.
» SPECTATORS & BENCHES: Each team has its own bench closest to the shore for players currently not on the ice, where 7-8 players will be benched at any given time. Temporary benches for spectators have been set up on the shore, and all students and staff are welcome to cheer on their favorite team. Blankets and warming charms are recommended, and hot chocolate is available. Snuggle up, wave flags, show blatant favoritism!
» AFTER THE GAME: It's the last game! Have some fun!! There's a table full of sparklers, and Hazel might be able to slip a little something into your hot chocolate when Healer Mufferaw isn't looking. And, of course, merciless gloating is basically tradition by this point.
» OOC - QUESTIONS, COMMENTS, CONCERNS!

TEAM 2. HAZEL'S HELLHOUNDS
Play: How are they playing today? You might mention if they’re particularly offensive or defensive and if they’re improving. Perhaps they’re worked up, and break the rules by accident? Are they trying to deal contact to anybody in particular?
Are you okay with being injured? If yes, there’s a slight chance your character may be injured. If not, the invisible hand of fate will keep your lucky child safe for another day.
- GREEN: Falling on butts. Sore faces from gloating grins about feeling a'right.
- ORANGE: Mild bruising, existential crises at potential pointlessness of existence.
- PURPLE: No broken bones is the best we can guarantee.
- RED: Uh you won't die and you *probably* won’t break an arm. Broken noses are fair game, though.
Score: Rate their performance on a scale from 1-10.#26 Ursula de Luca
Play: Gonna be honest with you, it's Valentine's week and this is her last chance to be a pest on the ice, so Ursula's definitely spending more time 'just happening' to bump into Ferdie and clacking her stick against his than she is worrying about the puck. Not your top player for a championship game!
Are you okay with being injured? Yep
Score: 3
GOALS
Bad news: Ursula scores 0 goals for Hazel’s Hellhounds. :(
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of MOST LIKELY TO NEED TO KEEP THEIR DAY JOB.
#4 Ira Ashworth
Play: Hey, Ira's a LITTLE distracted. He's trying to keep his head in the game but if he smiles and/or tries to check Spencer one too many times...well. He won't admit that. But this is the last game, and he is representing Hazel's name today, so that's really important, too.
Are you okay with being injured? YEP
Score:8
GOALS & IRA INJURED
Ira is also injured. (Details to come!)
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of MOST NECESSARY HELMET.
IRA INJURED!
He'd better head down to see Healer Mufferaw!
#24 Nisha Lewis
Play: Last game!! Playing aggressively, but taking it about as seriously as her friends are.
Are you okay with being injured? Please release me from this prison.
Score: Let's go with an 8 today.
GOALS
Bad news: Nisha scores 0 goals for Hazel’s Hellhounds. :(
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of BEST UPPER HALF OF ADULT.
Which is weird, because it looked like it said something else there for a second? Huh.
Re: GOALS
# 12 Calvin Evercreech
Play: Calvin's never going to be an amazing hockey player, but he's not an embarrassment to Hazel's team. He's focused unless Micah isn't, in which case they may spiral into another game of Micah acting out and Calvin yelling at him.
Are you okay with being injured? Yep!
Score: 6
GOALS
Bad news: Calvin scores 0 goals for Hazel’s Hellhounds. :(
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of MOST OKAY-IST.
#28 Yancey Montgomery
Play: Focused and on the offensive, as always. Seems to be playing with extra energy today. Probably because it's his last Gooseberry game.
Are you okay with being injured? I will bake you a cake if you kill him so I don't have to give him a good day.
Score: 9
GOALS & YANCEY INJURED
Yancey is also injured. (Details to come!)
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of SMELLIEST SOCKS, PROBABLY.
YANCEY INJURED!
He'd better pay Healer Mufferaw a visit in the infirmary.
Concussions are the result of a particularly intense knock to the head. How did Yancey get the concussion? You decide! If another character is involved, remember to ask their player first!
Re: YANCEY INJURED!
#18 Jefferson Key
Play: Jeffy almost forgot to come here. He's good at sports, and probably won't notice if someone just like runs into him, but he's also very distracted by his definitely-girlfriend. Hi Essie!! Bye Essie!!! Good pass Essie!!!!
Are you okay with being injured? Don't you want to knock that smile off his face?
Score: 6 for my good good boy.
GOALS
Bad news: Jeffy scores 0 goals for Hazel’s Hellhounds. :(
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of MOST LIKELY TO NEVER BE SINGLE.
Re: GOALS
#36 Coyote Ugly
Play: Like he usually does, lite flavor distracted. He has a tendency to play defensively but he'd do anything Hazel told him to do, up to and including smacking someone with his hockey stick.
Are you okay with being injured? Yes
Score: 6
GOALS
Todd finishes the game unharmed!
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of COOLEST COYOTE.
#10 Clem
Play: Also her last game of shinny, unless she makes it back for PTC at some point. Far from her last game of sports, in any event. She's a little sentimental but she's mostly just out here to have fun. She won't even be put out if they lose (much).
Are you okay with being injured? Yes.
Score: 9.
GOALS
Clem finishes the game unharmed!
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of SHARPEST SKATES.
#2 Hazel Keating
Play: Amazing?? Hazel is incredibly sad about hockey being over soon, but she's also feeling energized by the feeling of excitement that comes with a championship game. She's focused, peppy, and honestly pretty ready to take anyone out she can. Aggression is not a problem for her tonight, but at least if she checks you she'll be incredibly happy about it?
Are you okay with being injured? 100%
Score: 10!!!
GOALS & HAZEL INJURED
Hazel is also injured. (Details to come!)
Their freshmen-bestowed award ribbon also gives them the title of CUTEST HELLION.
HAZEL INJURED
# 8 Avery Davenport
Play: Pretty well! She's not as angry as she was last game, or confused. She's relatively relaxed and playing for fun, which actually makes her play a lot better.
Are you okay with being injured? Yes, kill her.
Score: 8
GOALS
# 38 Samantha Sweeney
Play: After her embarrassing display last game, Sam is here and ready to make-up for it. She's trying extra hard, not playing around, and perhaps being a little overaggressive? Unlike her usual want to just play and screw around and have fun, she feels like she needs to prove she isn't useless or a waste of space, so she's really attempting to play the game how it's supposed to be played.
Are you okay with being injured? Yes yes.
Score: Solid 7.
GOALS
#30 Ruby Oberholtzer
Play: Wait, final game? Really? For once in her life, Ruby supposes she can stop showing off long enough to try to make some goals. She might be a figure skater by trade but she grew up in eastern Canada, and spent half of her life so far on the ice. She fucking knows how to play hockey, and here's the time to prove it. Speed and control are Ruby's fortes, and she can take a hit and stay standing. Come at her.
Are you okay with being injured? Go for it!!!
Score: 9 because Hazel deserves it!!!!
GOALS & RUBY INJURED
RUBY INJURED!
Re: RUBY INJURED!
Re: RUBY INJURED!
# 44 Ophelia Noggins
Play: Serious and surprisingly strong, Ophelia's a natural athlete. She's not a natural skater, though, and when she checks someone it's like a tiny, graceless freight train. Easy to get out of her way, but god help you if you don't.
Are you okay with being injured? Yep!
Score: 8
