Haven't you got anything better to do with your time, Mr. Pratt?

WARDED TO JADE
Here's the plan.

We find ourselves two allies on the Bella Casino and Bella Thief teams. We'll call them Beauty and The Beast, respectively. So long as we throw our own Casino team to the proverbial wolves, it's possibly for me and our new allies all to win.

First off, we let them rob our Casino. You have access to our codes, and our team has no reason to distrust us, so this should be easy enough.

Secondly, we enlist their help robbing the Palace. This will be a little more complicated, and require some subterfuge, but I believe in us.

To rob the Palace, we'll need a contact on their thief team. I'll call this person Le Fou. We'll tell Le Fou that we're double-dealing and have a contact in The Bella who trusts us. We'll need Beauty to give us two matching codes for their vault, or if Le Fou has one of the codes they need already, just the matching one.

As a show of good faith, we let them validate the key. Then they know our information is good. Now they trust us. We tell them we'll keep feeding them codes for the Bella, if they can provide codes for the Palace in return. We'll make it out to be a thieves' coalition.

After we get the first key, we give them the second key for the Bella. We should also make them fund the keys - send us sixty credits. That'll put their team down financially, so they can't buy the last one. Then, we make them go first for the last key exchange, to prove their good faith.

Once we have all three keys for the Palace, we tell the Bella to proceed with the heist on the Flamingo. The game will end before the Palace thieves even know they've been betrayed, and we make out like bandits.

Of course, the way things are currently going, we could probably bunk off and your team would still win. It'd be a lot less work. I'll be perfectly happy either way, so I leave the decision to you.

Who need help asking their very truest love to prom? I'll consult the fates and let you know what the tarot says you should do. The price is one vote for prom princess, to be cast in Jade's name.

WARDED TO MADISON, LIBERTY, HAZEL, & ESSIE
I'm going to dump a bucket of blood on Jade if she wins prom princess. I'm not an idiot and it should be easy to do, so I don't think there's any risk of any of you getting hit instead. But I thought letting you know you aren't targets ahead of time might offer me some deniability.

Unless you want to be a target. The offer's open.

I need your help with something and I think you'll find the terms agreeable.

Nia told me the other day that I might be able to petition the school to change houses, next year. Because of the situation in my cabin.

Hello.
Mimics don’t explode when you stun them anymore. Sorry.

[Juniors]

[....] I need Micah and Todd to please throw your best insults at me. It’s to determine if I need to hex you again. Be careful.
(The rest of you are here to determine if these are good insults. I’m biased.)

Thank you, everyone, for the well-wishes and presents. I hope you don't expect anything in return, because I don't know when any of your birthdays are.

On a more serious note, I'll be cooking dinner in the Rudiments classroom on Wednesday. If my fellow Hogwarts students or anyone who wants to spend the evening in quiet remembrance wants to join me, you're welcome to.

[ Notes copied meticulously into Ariadne's journal, in a steady handwriting that is much easier to read than her usual scrawl. ]

The Unknown Brotherhood was a cabal of dark wizards who found their footing in the strong anti no-maj sentiment of the early 19th century. There were many such organizations in North America at that time, and most were hunted down by the Federal Auror Bureau. The last dozen members of the Unknown Brotherhood met their end in Northeastern Utah, where the aurors chased them into the woods near a mountain range. The winter that year was particularly harsh, and the dark wizards were never seen or heard from again.

The name of the organization is sometimes recorded as the Unknowables*.

Before breakfast, Ari hands Calvin, Ferdie, Hazel, London, Micah, Salem, Solo, and Wilde their copies of the Guthrie Gazette to distribute. Just like any other first Friday in the month, each of them has about twenty issues to foist off on their classmates. Unlike previous months, Ari insisted on duplicating all the copies herself, and it's immediately evident why: their front-page story has been replaced.

WARDED TO BASH, JADE, LIBERTY, LUCAS, AND ZACH
This is pointless. We could stay here for weeks and not read a third of these books.

On the off chance anyone needs me or finds something interesting, I'm in Obscura and Apocrypha. I'm going to build myself a mausoleum out of dusty old reference texts.

WARDED TO LUCAS, BASH, JADE, ZACH & LIBERTY
I went to Logan this afternoon. You can tell me off later, Bert.

I was hoping to find information about that muggle mining settlement in the muggle library there, but of course it wasn't very useful. And we've been through every halfway-relevant book in Gooseberry's library. I think if we want any hope of answers, whether it's about the ley lines or the ghosts or the doppelgΓ€ngers, we're going to need a bigger library.
