For anyone wondering, I can now personally confirm that Healer Lumberjack can and will very aggressively give detention.

And for some reason he hikes in the fucking rain.

I think I might have tempted the Gooseberry Gods of Irony when I said water was Ribbonfin's natural habitat. The stream was practically to my knees when I went to breakfast this morning and, oh look, it still hasn't stopped raining. I'm from California dammit, bring me back my droughts.

If the mysterious building they're putting up isn't an auxiliary cabin for displaced fishies, anyone volunteer to steal a boat and ferry us over two by two?

NOTICE: Due to weather conditions, all Ribbonfin students will be staying in the lodge tonight. Please get everything you need from your cabins by 8 PM today, since the prefects will be checking that all windows are closed and doors are locked at that time. Cots and sleeping bags will be provided in the lodge. Mr. Hightower expects the rain will die down sometime tomorrow, so you don't have to pack more than what's needed for one night.

Although the situation isn't horribly dangerous, I'm requesting anyway that all other houses please stay away from the Ribbonfin campground, for safety reasons. Thank you for your cooperation.

Oh, and please take care when you're crossing the stream today! I don't think the water's high enough to overtake the bridges, but I wouldn't want anyone to fall in or drop their books or... whatever other terrible scenarios you can imagine. I probably shouldn't be giving people ideas.

Everyone enjoys an impromptu sleepover.

Cricket:

I realize we hardly ever speak outside of Event Committee, but your mother specializes in impra

I was hoping I could call on some of that Susannah Quayle know-how that I'm sure your mother has so dearly imparted to you. Reid Someone gave me flowers recently and I suppose they are rather nice to look at but they're going to just die anyway they're also rather doomed now that they're out of the ground.

I was wondering if you had any suggestions for how someone might deal with this rather inconvenient fact.

Any thoughts you may have on the matter are appreciated.

Reid doesn't have a sister, does he?
