I would have never forgiven you if you hadn't come back. Just for the record.

Who would dare say you aren't a gentleman? Your ability to not die tragically can't be matched.

Excellent idea. Word for the wise: on the whole, ladies prefer their men alive and well. Or at least I do. I'm so rel Are you I'm impressed by your survival skills.

Those are the only things I look for in a man, so you're making good progress. Lucky you.

I'm already imagining you fighting for your life, enduring the elements, using all of the tools at your disposal to get back to us. As you struggled through the blizzard (yes, there was a blizzard in this version), you thought of your poor sister and how she must be so scared. "Not like this," you said to yourself, "I'm not going out like this!" Somehow, you found that last shred of strength to keep you moving against the buffeting winds. Your body wanted to lie down and give up, but that indomitable Quayle spirit just wouldn't let you.

How's that?

she missed her calling as a writer.

It's a lonely life. It makes me wonder if there's something about me that scares boys away.

You mean when you had to wrestle it bare handed to protect what scarce food you had found? You knew that if you didn't defend that rabbit you managed to trap, there was no way you were lasting the night. It was die of starvation, or in the jaws of a bear. The behemoth of a creature reared up on it's hind legs, towering over you as you stared up at its razor sharp teeth and claws. You expected to feel fear but instead... No. There was no fear at all, only determination. You were going to live. That bear had underestimated you.
