I'm in Ribbonfin! Which is brilliant because green is one of my favourite colours and everyone's been so nice in helping me get settled in my cabin. I'm not entirely sure I know my way around yet since my orientation was a bit disorientating but at least I got to see a lot of the woods! I love that the forest here isn't forbidden. That does mean it's safe, right?

Oh and I have a question for my fellow trouts --

wait do we call each other trouts? That doesn't sound very flattering.

Trouts really has a horrible sound to it, duckling. It brings to mind some slimey floppy fish and ugh. Do what you must, but it's just as easy to say Ribbonfins.

I won't call anyone a trout if that's not okay! But it is two syllables and four letters shorter than Ribbonfin. And when they're in the water fish are actually very sleek and graceful!

Ah yes, that prefect guide was terribly scattered. At least all the trails are clearly marked. You'll pick it up eventually, but in the meantime, anyone else in the house will be happy to help guide you to where you need to go.

I think people will say "fish" if they have to name any animal. But perhaps we should change that up? We could all call each other fellow rainbows.

Oh, that makes sense! Fellow rainbows sounds lovely. Rainbow is my mum's name, actually!

It's as safe as any other wild area, which just means you've got to be careful and know what you're doing. Are you taking Outdoor Ed? Mr. Thorn will teach you how to be safe in the forest.

Welcome to Ribbonfin! The forest is perfectly safe! If you join Outdoor Exploration, and read up on survival skills, and know basic first aid, and pack your bag well, and don't stray from the trail, and respect the nature, and don't make too much noise.

Maybe you'd be best off staying on the trail.

Perfectly safe? Think about how awful you'll feel if someone gets eaten out there and you said it was perfectly safe. There is more hiding out in those woods than just cuddly little animals.

I think I may try to find several books on the history of this place. I'm very interested in how they came up with the houses, and the animal representation.
