All of the seniors are brought into the lodge and given a hearty breakfast and a once over by Mufferaw, who determines them to be in good health. Tabitha Ogletree and Christopher Park both have colds and get a Pepper-Up. Rafael Ramirez gets a hushed but tense talking to by Mufferaw.

Ms. Vector calls together the entire junior class, and... she looks pissed. She lectures everyone on decorum, and takes twenty points from each house. Every student who participated in a fight (Sylvester Stoker, Rosemary Stoker, Reid Wainwright, Kurt Wolfhart, Riley Stamper, Olivia Sanchez, Casper Kim, Casey Patterson, Jacob Wood) gets a week's worth of detention. Every day after dinner next week, you will be with her, cleaning the floors of the Lodge. No, she does not care that this is the House Elves' job, because she just made it your job. The one exception will be the dance... please report to her after the dance is complete, as you will be assisting Event Committee with cleanup if you're not already.

She then sends everyone back to their cabins, except the junior prefects. She expresses her extreme disappointment in them. "You were all trusted with a position of responsibility and this casts doubt on our decision to do so," she says sharply. "Last night, you failed your Houses, your teachers, and your classmates. You're all on probation* until further notice."

She leaves without another word, clearly not in a mood to differentiate who was or was not responsible for what happened.
[* Until Ms. Vector or Mrs. Bloom are less annoyed with the junior prefects, you may get your badges taken away for further poor behavior. Any points you give or remove may be investigated to ensure you're not abusing the power.]

It's not long before Laurel returns to Azurcrest with Mr. Calderon-Boot at her side. He can't stand these pranks, and by the time he arrives he's quite agitated. However, as soon as he reaches the campsite, he takes a deep breath, pats Laurel on the shoulder, and regains his composure.

A few things are going to happen:
  • He quickly lights the fire pit in the middle of the campground.

  • He's going to go to each cabin individually, and ask the students to come out to the fire pit and sit down. He asks Cecil, Quinn and Jesse to help gather everyone. He also asks that they call in all of the vigilantes that ran off to find the perpetrator.

  • The exception will be the junior Azurcrest girls' dorm. He'll try to coerce Katya to come down to Healer Mufferaw's with him, where she will be given a calming draught and can stay the night. He asks Riley to help by gathering her things, and says that Riley may come and stay with her.

  • Before going, he gives a quick talk to the gathered Azurcrests, saying Merrill will be on his way. He wants the prefects to do a head count before he arrives.

[OOC: Because of tonight's reaction, we may need to do revisions to this month's plot calendar. The mods are currently discussing what to do, but please be aware. If things do change, we'll compensate anyone whose character is affected because they claimed a Lake Gooseberry Killer slot on the plot calendar. ]

[EDIT: All future events relating to the LGK plot have been suspended. Your mods are working on figuring out what to do to handle current plot developments, so please forgive us if the game has a momentary lull!]

AFTER THE PRANK

BREAKFAST
Following the feather prank that was played on Ebonhide, things were even pettier than usual between Ms. Rhee and Mr. Merrill. At breakfast, every word between the two rival teachers was a passive-aggressive jab. Ms. Vector was overhead saying she was ready to drown them both in the lake. Mr. Elmasry had the expression of someone desperately trying not to laugh as Mr. Hightower stared him down and said something about professionalism.

Meanwhile, Head Boy Cecil Honeychurch managed to get a number of his fellow Azurcrests to admit to their involvement. Azurcrest began talking about a cleanup effort, and Cecil went to Mr. Merrill with their intentions.

LATE MORNING
Cecil explained to Mr. Merrill what had happened, but refused to name names. Mr. Merrill was moved by the admission, enough that he was willing to break the stalemate with Ms. Rhee. As he left his office with Cecil, he squeezed the Head Boy's shoulder and told him "I knew they made the right choice when they picked you. The second I got the news, I knew." Merrill didn't demand any specifics on who was involved. He'd accept anyone who showed up for the cleanup effort, and that was good enough.

It was not, however, good enough for Ms. Rhee. Incensed by the idea that there were guilty parties going unpunished, she took the issue to the headmistress. By now, Mrs. Bloom was eager to kill this whole matter and get out for some fishing while the weather was still good. She agreed with Rhee, and decreed that since the prank targeted all of Ebonhide, all of Azurcrest should have to clean it up.

AFTER DINNER; THE CLEANUP
Mr. Merrill hiked all the way out to Ebonhide with all of his students in tow to perform a massive cleanup of the feathers around the Ebonhide camp. He was in good spirits (but when is he not?), and tried to keep the rest of Azurcrest in a similar mood.
  • Mr. Merrill is on hand helping to clean, but he's pretty useless. He's singing songs, encouraging games, and periodically throwing feathers at any Azurcrests he deems too slow or too serious.
  • Ms. Rhee is there as well, making sure the Azurcrests don't do any more damage. She mom-scolds any Ebonhides who try to help.
  • If your Azurcrest character tries to skip out, they can slip away on the way to Ebonhide or during the cleanup. However, they have a 75% chance of being noticed, and if they are, they'll receive detention. If your character tries this, comment on this post and we'll let you know if they got away with it!
  • Students from Coppertale and Ribbonfin may attempt to casually visit friends in Ebonhide, but if they're at all disruptive or try to help clean, Ms. Rhee will ask them to leave. Failure to comply will result in lost points or detention!

Following the back-to-school party, which involved an unreasonable amount of kissing, an unfortunate cold epidemic has swept through the school. By that evening, the staff have been forced to acknowledge it. Their reactions range from disappointment to barely stifled amusement.

The Heads of House tell their students to go stop by the hospital wing if they're unwell, where Healer Mufferaw is waiting with folded arms and a withering expression. "You all got yourselves into this mess," he's heard saying, "but none of you are getting out of class over a case of the sniffles if I have anything to say about it."

A significantly less irritated Mr. Elmasry is hanging out in the background, trying not to laugh as he's brewing new Pepper-Up Potions. They're going to need a lot.

[OOC: Feel free to reply this if your character got sick from the party, either by playing the kissing games or drinking out of the wrong cup. You can interact with one another, and the staff members will pop in and out to interact with students.]
