START OF THE NIGHT

YOU WAKE UP...
It’s night at Gooseberry. You wake up shivering, wondering where you are and how you got here. The last thing you remember are the shapes in the fog, dozens of them, then hundreds, surrounding the lodge. Then a crash as the Atrium went dark, and someone started screaming...
You peer through the darkness. A heavy fog covers the entire school grounds, making it almost impossible to see further than 25 feet in front of your face, if you happen to be outside. All the electricity has been extinguished, and the only light comes from student wands and the waxing gibbous overhead. Where are all your friends? Where are your teachers? And where are they?

HOW THIS WORKS
- Important information about endgame can be found HERE.
- All scenes will take place on
thedeepwoods. All rescuers and mimics, if they’re in possession of a journal, can post on the journal network in
gooseberryhigh. Victims, reserves and non-participants can’t respond to any journal entries yet.
- You (and your group) begin the night in a random location. Post HERE to receive your first location. From there, you can follow the compass to move from location to location. If you reach a Dead Zone, your group must stop travel so an NPC mod can respond.
AROUND CAMPUS, 6/19

- Last night, two older Aurors from Cache County arrive to investigate the death of Aaron Yaeger. The area where his body was found is cordoned off. Director Grimshaw isn't there to greet them.
- Staff informs students that exams are still taking place. Everyone needs to exercise caution. A representative from the MACUSA camp, Agent Larke, says that they're doing everything in their power to keep the students safe.
- Healer Mufferaw is overheard having a loud argument with Mrs. Bloom, in the Headmistress' office. He wants to cancel exams and send everyone home immediately. Staff seems pretty split down the middle about what to do, but Mrs. Bloom and Ms. Vector are determined to make everyone complete their finals. However, if seniors feel as though they're not up to doing a senior project presentation, they may ask their Head of House if they can opt out this year.
- Agents Larke and Monet have a strained relationship, and it's especially clear today. A freshman spreads the rumor that they overheard them fighting: Larke argued that they need to protect the students, but Monet believed that the best way to accomplish that was to go after the source of the mimics. "Don't endanger lives just because you want revenge," Larke accused. They don't seem to be on speaking terms after that.
- There are noticeably fewer Aurors patrolling the paths today, and Director Grimshaw is still nowhere to be seen. Agent Gillespie steps up in his absence and motivates the remaining Aurors to maintain defenses. She assigns two to every campsite, but numbers are thin today. She seems unhappy.
- Jade Otterwell tries to use Brother's gift to see if any other Aurors are mimics. Monet and at least three others pass the test, but she's starting to weird them out. What is this kid doing? Go away, they're busy. Mr. Merrill, looking uncommonly serious, asks Jade to let the Aurors do their jobs in peace.
- Lucas Kowalski asks Ms. Lilywhite about learning the real version of the net spell. She seems distracted, but at his insistence, teaches him Captis. The spell projects an unbreakable magical net at the target, but without more training, it won't last for more than 30 seconds. "Don't do anything stupid with this, Kowalski. Or your friends, since I know you're going to teach them." Ms. Lilywhite frowns at his other questions. "Of course the mimics want us to distrust Grimshaw and the forest entities. They're trying to kill mimics." For a second, it seems like she might say something else, but Lilywhite just shakes her head and dismisses Lucas. "I'll speak to the headmistress. And I mean it, don't do anything stupid."
