Show of hands, please.

Who else is trapped in their cabin right now? I know us and the senior and junior Ribbonfin girls are.

[WARDED TO SENIORS IN FENCING]
How many of you are entering the talent show? I had an idea for a possible entry, but I'll need help to pull it off... say, two or three volunteers? Essentially, it's a choreographed fencing demonstration—more LARP or Drama than "real" fencing. Much showier, with fencers in costumes instead of fencing gear, and there will be a simple story attached to it, like a "duel to the death." We'll need time to block out and practice the choreography, but I have some ideas already.

Normally I'd ask LARPers, since today's session was actually what gave me the idea, but I'm thinking it might be impressive to do this with people who've been trained to handle real sabres instead of foam swords. Metal hitting metal makes for a much more dramatic sound onstage. (Of course, those of you who are in Fencing and LARP should consider yourselves extra welcome.)

[Added later:] We have enough volunteers, thank you! Hopefully this ends up fun for everyone.

[WARDED TO ASHER GUTHRIE]
I heard about what happened today. Are you alright?

[WARDED TO DIEGO MORALES]
Hello. Um This is a peculiar question, but... Do you have preferences when it comes to lizards? Is it only lizards you like, or do you enjoy other kinds of reptiles too?

I feel like shit today. I might be catching something, so here's your warning: no one let me into kissing games when we go back to school next week. Keep your lips off me.

[Warded to Cecil]
I saw you writing comments so I know you were reading it.

Are you okay, man?

[Warded to Ravi]
Thanks for coming. I had a lot of fun. I'm kind of disappointed it was just one night, but we might have ended up completely hating one another, so it was the best plan at the time. (You weren't just pretending not to hate me, right???)

Also I wanted to say that... I'm glad the anon post didn't completely ruin things. It was easier being with a friend. So I'm glad we got to hang out during it.

[WARDED TO RIBBONFIN SENIORS]
Oh, I know what you're thinking, but there will be no scolding or lecturing from your local prefect today. I promise. Actually, I've just been struck by the realization that 2013 has barrelled by shockingly quickly, and only promises to get busier, what with exams and Drama rehearsals and Winter Formal. Everyone's trying to keep our heads above the water and not drown from the stress (not Ras, obviously, he's a strong swimmer and stress-impervious), but... it's the holidays, and we should remember to cherish the time we spend together. We've been rainbow trout for three years and three months now, and in June, we'll be graduating and leaving Ribbonfin forever.

Thank god, you're thinking to yourselves. Soon I will escape the suffocating boa constrictor hold of Ravi's fussing. Ah yes, but until then, might I suggest we have a little get-together, just the ten of us? This weekend's going to be exceptionally crowded, so next week, perhaps? Please let me know what you all think. It can be just a few hours in the boys' cabin, catching up and relaxing. We can have hot chocolate, and I'll clean out Event Committee's supply of pastries.

[WARDED TO PREFECTS]
Well, it's that time of the year again: Azurcrest sledding. As much as we can appreciate the ingenuity always on display at this school, it's well-established that sledding down Azurcrest hill is against school rules, on account of being extremely dangerous. As is underage drinking, especially this close to the lodge. Honestly, did you all want to get caught

Nate and I are here, and we'll do our best to stop it. However, if one of the teachers find out, this will get much worse for everyone, so we'd appreciate any prefects who could spare the time to wrangle fractious sledders. This is a rather big hill, and people are very drunk.

[Added about ten minutes later:]

Never mind about not bringing a teacher into it. Broken bones means alerting Healer Mufferaw, and I am not lying to him about what people were doing to get injured this badly. I'm sorry, but everyone knew the rules when they started.

[And added a few minutes after that:]
[WARDED TO CECIL HONEYCHURCH]
You should probably know that Diego and Levi are claiming to be the masterminds of this whole thing. And that Quinn and Jesse were definitely present and not stopping it.

Yes, Ryan is here too.

NOTICE: Due to weather conditions, all Ribbonfin students will be staying in the lodge tonight. Please get everything you need from your cabins by 8 PM today, since the prefects will be checking that all windows are closed and doors are locked at that time. Cots and sleeping bags will be provided in the lodge. Mr. Hightower expects the rain will die down sometime tomorrow, so you don't have to pack more than what's needed for one night.

Although the situation isn't horribly dangerous, I'm requesting anyway that all other houses please stay away from the Ribbonfin campground, for safety reasons. Thank you for your cooperation.

Oh, and please take care when you're crossing the stream today! I don't think the water's high enough to overtake the bridges, but I wouldn't want anyone to fall in or drop their books or... whatever other terrible scenarios you can imagine. I probably shouldn't be giving people ideas.

Good luck this weekend, Ribbonfin! I'm sure the whole house will come out to support our Quidditch and Cheer teams as they face off against Azurcrest. Now, I don't know much about broom-flying or human pyramids, but I do know about cheering on the best team in the school, which is why I will be out there in green and copper, passionately... making sure no one causes trouble in the stands.

Sorry, I have to leave the yelling and chanting "Ribbonfin!!!" to people with louder voices. ;)

Aside from a couple of comments (which were obviously me given how boring and uptight I sounded), I closed my journal early and remain blissfully ignorant as to what people got up to by signing my name to their posts. My night was quite enjoyable, and I'm glad that people seemed to have fun with anonymity.

Also, I apologize to everyone in Ribbonfin for being a terrible pr

LARP has started in earnest now, after spending September finding our footing and helping new players get accustomed to how we do things. The kingdom is still shocked and devastated by the assassination of our long-standing monarch, but King Elmasry is growing more comfortable on the throne, and our guild has an admirable array of heroic names from across the land. (And a few less heroic ones too, of course. I didn't forget about you.)

It's strange to run the club after having lost all of our founding members from last year's graduating class, but the other LARP veterans have proven well up to the task. Thank you, all of you. I hope we can bring you an exciting adventure this year.
